As part of a GCSE graphics project I have mentioned before, I am going to make a model of an FS ship, coming out of subspace (so i'll only need the front end, it will be attached to a back panel of MDf, you see) anyone have any ideas as to which ship would be best?
-
Lucifer.
-
Orion.
-
Are you insane?!?
They would be so hard to make it would be crimial!
-
The Lucifer would be pretty easy to do. And a Hecate wouldn't be that hard either.
-
I know that someone's made an Orion before. I saw a pic..dunno if it was ever finished though.
-
No, a Ravana would be criminal. or a Hecate. How abot the Hatesh... I can't spell it. :sigh: THe vasudan destroyer from FS2.
-
Hatshepsut!
-
who said it had to be a destroyer? Hmm?
Why not suggest things like the Lev, or Aeolus?
-
Life-size 'models' please, and in working order too if possible.... :p
-
There's always the Apollo.

do the first hercules, shouldn't be too hard.

Sobek, Aten, Mentu, Iceni, Deimos, Cain, Moloch, Valkyrie, Perseus, etc...
This sounds like a good idea, making FS models in real-life!

I'd say stick to Terran ships, they have fewer curves. I recon a hecate would be sort of easy, its just a series of boxes 5 main boxes, with 4 fins on the side, and one on the bottom.

I got a picture of a Japanese classroom where the students filled it totally to the ceiling with a scaled model of the Argo/Yamato... They had paper dolls like in the cut out books drawn to look like the crew and scattered then all over it. Some are even in the barrel of the wave motion gun hanging around :)
It looked cool and took a long time. I wonder if that pissed the teacher off losing a whole classroom?
-
Ok, how about the Deimos? Or the Perseus? Herc Mk I would be nice.
-
I think Artimus (the Freakspace guy) made that wooden Orion, but I can't find a link at the moment...
-
You guys are all wrong. The Iceni is the best one to use.
-
Iceni and Sathanas :nod::p
-
Pegasus!!!
-
Note to self:
Must design/prototype CMC machining tool (for wood or metal) that takes POF files as input...

Leviathan. Dead Easy.

I was wondering why no-one was mentioning that or the Fenris (same diff).

the big 'C' wouldn't be too hard either

That's it, I'm making the Fenris, now can anyone give me any advice as to how? I will only be making the fron half as I mentioned before, to give the effect that it is emerging form subspace. Anyone have the dimensions of the ship, so I can scale it down?

just open it up in MODELVIEW32 - it has dimensions.
-
Yes, buts they're dimensions for the whole ship, not each edge, thats what I am in grave need of, if I am to produce a net and then fold it into shape.
