As some of you know, tropical storm Hanna nailed(at least the rainy side) my town late last night. Im fine and the area needed the rain. But a power surge through my phone line fried my modem, i've "borrowed" my moms external modem for tonight though. bad news is that I dont think i'll be on for about two days while i get a new one.
PS: My ****ty phone line wount work if i run it through my surge protector, so dont bother with "Well, you shoulda..." posts.

You shoulda had a T1.4 line... nothings faster then light... except for warp... which dosn't exist... and possibly the velocity equivilent of the factored form expressed as a string (this string): The expressed percent that caffiene seems to affect me anymore.
(damn screwed up WorldEditor-based programming logic)

well when signals go through warps they come out in very poor reception, as you may recall the last FS1 mission

Good to hear that you're ok, bad to hear that your modem is not

Thanx for caring and whatnot.
GREAT NEWS!!! MY MODEM WORKS!!! ALL I HAD TO DO WAS DUST!!! But seriously, everybody should dust the inside of their computer very soon.
-
Bah, it generally does the job to give it a good kick. Just make sure you're not wearing steel-toe boots first.

Yes, I know what you mean; after not doing it for almost a year, everything was piled up with thick quarter-inch layers of dust, and it really prevents air circulation. :p
-
the fan on my comp is the dustiest shade of dust i have ever seen.. and yet it is covered in it and it still spins faster than i can count ;)
-
It was the same case here before I cleaned out everything, but strangest of all, it was still spinning at a good 7200rpm (full speed) and the dust layer had just stayed right on the blades for months. :p (and it had become thick enough to change the fan color from black to gray)

*inhales* Ahh, that new-PC smell. Nothin' like it in the world.
-
Dust!
Oh dear, well.... hehe... good to hear that the problem was not worse than that
Yea, I think too that people should get rid of the dust inside their computers time to times. My friend for example hadn't dusted for ages and when we decided to change his GFX card... damn there was stuff inside that box :D
-
my PC could use some dusting as well. Haven't done that in about two years or so. But then, I'm getting a new one next month, so why bother?
-
true
-
Use a hoover inside ur pc... it can be fun. :nervous:

If you've never had a spider living inside your computer, you shouldn't be complaining.
-
I did find a small dead spider body at the bottom of the case once, does that count? :D
Actually one of my relatives in india once had their computer overtaken by swarms of cockroaches... :p :D
