(Shamelessly stolen from the Relic boards)

Look at this! It's Quake I with Doom-3 like graphics!

Sure, it looks nice. It has pretty things such as stencil shadows (standard in modified engines already), bump mapping, and per-pixel lighting. And I guess that fancy eye candy on this scale, plus throwing in mentions of "Doom 3", is good since it attracts more people to the game.

However, it's extremely slow for most people, and remains lacking in other features that are practically standard in other engines. Here's hoping it catches up with other engines, which also deserve recognition after years of playing with the source, rather than becoming an overly ornate tech demo.

Not that I'm complaining, it's still nice work :)

I've heard about this before... I can't say it sets my world on fire. It's Quake 1 ...with pixel shaded graphics. Whoop-te-****ing-do!

This looks quite nice considering the engine they are working off on.

of course not, it looks as good as the latest FPS, but since it's the quake1 engine, it's crap, right?
geez, UT2003 doesn't even have bump.

The engine in use has nothing to do with it. UT2003 doesn't set my world on fire either. It's called not giving a crap about graphics.
