Notice the complete lack of actually editing the ship sprites other than resizing.

Actually, since the Orion is about 800 meters long, and the Enterprise D, a Galaxy class ship is a little over 600 meters long, the Orion is only 1.3 times the size of the ship there.

Ummm.... The standard GTD Orion is over 2 clicks long. The Iceni is over 800m long.

if you want to be precise, the orion is 2019 meters long :p

Enterprise would win :p. It can travel at sub-light speeds in battle and therefor can easily evade beams when they see that they are charging. On top of that it can be split up in 2 sections (Saucer & Warp Section). I know the crappy weapons won't do much but if the give you a few full spread Quantum torpedos on the turrets it would surely leave the Galatea unarmed. Or they'll just eject their anti-matter core on your ass :p.

Anyway : What you can't hit you can't defeat!

what you can't hurt you can't defeat either :p
and the galatea can be lucky and hit, the enterprise can't xpect the crappy weapons to go throug any par of the hull I guess.

Their Quantum Torpedos can blast turrets off easily (Since even weak fighters can). And a anti matter core can be *ahem* painfull.

On top of that they can emit high radiation particle streams, EM beams etc... And since The Galatea has no shields whatsoever it would kill the crew and disable everything.

Not to be too podantic but isn't the Star Trek shields actual deflector shields? i.e. they would protect against beams? :p

 But the shields would be fried after 1 shot though. The 2nd would be fatal.

But they can't hit the enterprise twice when its traveling at sub-light speeds. :p... And the Galatea would have disabled beams in not to long...

EM bursts still rule against unshielded ships!

And the enterprise has shuttles wich fly at sublight speeds (And warp for great for kamikaze attacks :drevil:  )

Eh, isn't the phrase "sub-light speed" supposed to mean.. slower than light? Cause the prefix "sub" means to be less than or diminished. So technically any speed less than 186,000 mi/sec would be "sub-light"

You can't dodge light. It wouldnt be hard to keep a lock on a target moving in a straight line as they always seem to do in the series.

Um.....

Enterprise = not a warship
Galatae / any FS2 ship = warship.

Thus, FS2 ship opens a big can of whoop-ass.

simple.

I was thinking more about the idea of warp drives in star trek, they supposedly work by placing the ship partly in subspace and partly in realspace and skipping along...FS ships have full jump drives and can move in true subspace, therefore FS ships can actually move faster if they need to, thus making the point of a ship being unhitable moot.

1). They don't travel faster, they just take a short cut through sub space. They still maintain their +/- 10 to 25 m/s only in sub space while Star trek ships can actually move at light speed anytime. Or 100,000+ m/s (impulse) in battle :p.

2). They can only jump far through nodes otherwise it would be in system. Warp can be used everywhere.

Why dont have the new Enterprise go one on one with the destroyer,  ( i dont know what is the designation of the new one,  Enterprise E?)    lets see who will win.

lol Just look at what I've started! :D Well, in order to know who would win, I need to know just what the beam cannons are. What kind of weapon is it? Is it focused light (laser) or is it some kind of particle beam?
