Is this for real? I can find absolutely no info whatsoever on the movie aside from this poster teaser I got from someone off the local network:
And if the image appears to be giving you the red X, then my webspace probably hit the traffic limit...
-
OH MY GOD...
They better not make that... :sigh: :mad2: :doubt: :shaking: :blah:
On second thought and IRC discussion that looks helluva fake ..
-
If it is real, it will do zero justice to the anime.
-
The general consensus we're getting is that either it's fake or it hopefully is fake. Honestly, the series is over, and I think it'll lose something in the transition to live-action.
-
/me thinks "Oh ****."
Well, say goodbye to one of my friends. He will start standing in-line about..... now.
-
I thought ban dai made power ranger action figures....
those are some big pantie strings ;7
-
I'm afraid I may have to.... confirm.
The poster is bogus, though, because it's being made by Columia-Tristar, not Fox.
Here's the site for the sub-company releasing it: http://www.sonypictures.com/cthe/destination/flash.html
Click "In Theatres"
All it says is "Cowboy Bebop: Coming to theatres 2003! Check back for more info."
-
SHIIIIIIIIIT!
Edit: hmm, that doesn't look like a live action movie

if it is real, it'll be much better than the anime, simply because it's not, and i will therefore be able to look at it for long periods of time without barfing.
-
Well, who knows, maybe it won't suck ass...although that's hella wishful thinking...

Lets face it, FreeSpace 3(from volition, not scp) has a better chance of being put into production than this movie being good(or at least decient).
-
What are you getting at?
;)
The title gives it's quality away...
Call me american , but i never really developed a thing for anime.. although some of the stuff on Adult Swim is amusing. Only Anime i ever really liked was p... let's not get into things that don't concern....

Mwarf, all that thread is funny :p
the live thing is a fake, and the movie from destination is the reedition of Knockin' on Heaven's Door :p ( which is an anime movie. )
no need to worry, space cowboy :D
-
Ooh... Cameron Diaz with purple hair. Meow. ;7
-
I hope they'd be able to find someone better for spike
-
Yeah. The movie that Columbia Tri-Star is releasing is Knockin on Heaven's Door. I think they were going to release it last year even but the movie portrays a terrorist attack so they put it off for a while.

It is almost certainly fake -- note the MSRB "R" rating; a real film that far from release would have a "this film has not yet been rated," since they're usually delivered to the censors fairly close to the anticipated release date.
BTW I have no idea wtf this is supposed to be. I am guessing from the previous posts that it is based on some sort of anime, which I follow about as enthusiastically as square dancing.

A very good sci-fi anime :) A pretty famous one at that.

That sounds like an oxymoron to me. Like a very exciting ballet. Or very enlightened rap "music."

Ok, so why would they re-release it? It's not like they can resurrect the series. And I wouldn't think it'd be a big huge seller since probably fewer than enough people have seen the series and would know the character backstories enough to appreciate it fully.

you know nothing about anime trading and stuff, I suppose.
I don't feel like explaining anyway.
-
No, I don't, and I really don't feel like getting into a lesser flamewar over it, either.
The only interests I have in anime is the storytelling, and to a lesser extent, the animation itself.

that's why I didn't start one, nice move ;)
I wasn't agressive anyway, your question was legitimate one. but the answer is too long, and for the last few days I've been too lazy. to sum up: bad releases from US editors to be replaced by better ones, new dubbs, removed dubs ffor subs, bonus, etc etc. too many reasons to list, and varying if you look case by case.
