I really hope that was just made up... :D :D

Forgive me for saying so; but is this supposed to be funny?
:wtf:
Stargazer.

I cant read anymore, he's just too stupid

 Poor Setekh...
:nervous:
Did I say Setekh? I meant ErrorFroz...just a slip of the tongue...wasn't suggesting anything...no need to come at me with those pitchforks...:shaking:
Edit: Take a look at the disclaimer on that site:
Thank You for taking the time to read the disclaimer. If you are from the government or any other organization that is involved with stopping Illegal Software please leave and do not enter this site.

Cool. For once, I follow a link and it's actually funny, rather than a pathetically weak attempt at it.
That's really and truly evil. The worst part is, I have no doubt that it's true. I've seen people just that stupid (and worse) when they have to deal with computers.
I remember one, member of my family, she thought she needed screen savers, 'cos if the lights on the monitor weren't moving for too long, the monitor'd fall apart. I didn't wanna be mean, so I told her that that wasn't true, and she started correcting me, treating me like I was a moron for not knowing this.
So I told her to check and make sure that she chose the screen saver that was compatible with her monitor type. I think she's still looking. :D

thats some funny stuff right there :)

I once altered someones desktop so there were no icons, no bar thingy, no buttons, no nothing, except a huge background saying "DUMBASS", a little scrolling marquee saying "You shouldn't have left your computer" and a script that disabled right-clicking, then I used the last remaining explorer window and DOS prompt to wipe a ton of the keyboard driver files.
-
Meh - you guys are all hard-core. Worst thing I ever did was to put a background "speaking clock" thingy on my parent's computer that read aloud the time every 15 minutes. But that was back in the Windows 3.1 days - 9 years ago or so.

Very true, but you needn't throw a fit about it.

My guess is that's made up.

Dunno about hard-core. I just dealt with a person who asked me for some information on a very basic thing, and then put on airs as if they understood the field more than me, and refused to take some good advice. They wanted bad advice, and I never dissapoint. Anyway, you should see the **** that happens at my school. All you have to do is provide the most superficial illusion that the computers have been hacked, and the computer-illiterate security nuts will do the damage for you. 'Cos, you know, hackers are EVERYWHERE, and they want nothing more than to STEAL YOUR REPORT ON FROGS!!!:D

I'm guessing that's a universal constant.

People fear what they don't understand. This actually seems to apply more to computers than that old constant, death. Apparently, the logic is that, if you're an idiot, every person who can read a manual is out to get you, and can be foiled by systems so moronic they put the "child-proof" pill-bottle caps that everyone learns to open at age 3 to shame.
For some reason, everyone who can work a computer can also code flawless C, too, and can crank out their own GUI-based operating system in a couple hours.:D
Oh, and reads binary like it was a newspaper. How could I forget.:D
-
OMFG ROTFLMAO !!!:D LOL !!

Fugly kicks ass.
-
Who's that? :wtf:
-
Bunch of BOFH wannabes... They still have to learn true evil. :D
-
BOFH? Bastard Operator From Hell?
 The FUGLY thing was funny, too. :D
-
:wtf: How is that supposed to be funny? Tormenting people that don't know much about computers gets you off or something? I've dealt with people like that before, and to me it's much more gratifying to help them figure out how it all works, and when they really screw up, they're more than happy to compensate me for my trouble in fixing it.
-
We're all just sick, sadistic bastards;7
If you're gonna stay here, get used to it :D
-
*bites his tongue*
*****...no, no flaming, not here...
Get used to it? Fine, but don't think I'll turn a blind eye to it just like that...:mad2:
-
If you'd actually DEALT with any number of the computer-illiterate, particularly over the age of 40, you'd know that there is no helping them. They know all about computers, dammit, and you're just some inferior git sent to help them make their background images movie files or reformat their hard disks. Don't get all sanctimonious until you know **** about what you're talking about.
And anyway, 99.99999999999% of the stuff they wanna know can be found by reading two pages into the accompanying manual, provided it's not a Microsoft product. If they're so ****ing lazy as to need to waste everyone else's time when the information's available already with a little searching, they get what they deserve.
Anyway...

Whilst Stryke put it a little bluntly he has a point, I myself have no time for people who won't search for a solution before asking for help - I always make a point of doing a google search on any problems (if I can) or whatever before crying for help anywhere, saves a lot of time that way.
