Let me explain step by step. It's easy -
In the docking section place a dock ,add dock (Dock 00),
( set the dock points (two of them) - example [0,-3,0],[0,-3,1] ,
then set it's
properties $name=fighter dock , add spline path 00
In the paths section ofthe PCS put these:
Name $Path01
parent $dock01-01
Add several vertices. The 00 should be the far away from the fighter, 01 a little closer, and the ending one the closest. Vertices are rings that get smaller as you aproach the ship, thus creating a cone like tunnel which a support ship uses. They DON'T have normals.
The support ship goes from 00 to the ending one (put it VERY close to the docking point).
And that should be it!
I'll test this a few times before I'm completely sure, but it SHOULD work!
-
keep testing, if your paths work, I've got the perfect job for you :D

Well, the support ship docked with the thunderbolt and rearmed him. the only problem is - it tdocked to a point about 800m to the left! I think I got some coordinates wrong...dont know - but it works!!!!
B.t.w.- this day has been a madhouse. My collegue started without allmost anyone knowing about it. I've been running around like crazy, and barely managed to sign up the second year.... My new PC should be on the way soon. A lot of stuff going around, so you might hear a little less from me for several days.
b.t.w. - I kinda hoped to get into the staff section.
And I'll send you the ships when I'm done testing them. Geometry is perfect, but now PCS is giving me problems....
-
If you manage to get this paths thing figured out, you're on the team ;)

If you'd like, I can look at the geometry and see if there's any hidden silliness that PCS is misunderstanding.

Here's the situation.
I've got 2 fighters and 1 bomber I work on - all lods, debris in TS4.2 scene,
Got the tbl. files for them and the data for PCS (coordinates for thrusters, guns, subs,...), and the models I tried in the game, but that aren't working good.
+ I've allso got 2 capships and 1 transport - only 1 lod, no debris, but everything else. The turrets screw up on the big ones.
And I've got several weapons I made (2 of them with ani. files)
What should I send you?
-
just give me the 3d models first (all LODs and, Debris, Turrets, etc) and i'll take a look at them.
Sometimes its just hidden stuff that works just fine in a 3d program, but is completely misunderstood by the conversion programs.

The paths do work - I just need to fiddle with the coordinates.
b.t.w. - Mikhael, what's your e-mail?
-
[email protected] :D

I've sent you the ships.
B.t.w. - is there someone out here who knows how to do BIG ships: I've got two of them and the turrets act like crazy!
-
the paths work. I tested them on my fighters and they work.
Still haven't tested the big ships, but the point is - THEY WORK.
LtNarol, I sent you some stuff. (Be carefull with the Iowa and the Vanguard - they are still buggy)
