You know what I'd like?
I think we should put a fs2_open credit list into fs2_open.
I guess we would have to hardcode it to appear before V's read from file stuff.

Personally it would make it all worth it to have my name in Freespace 2.

arn't the credits just a table file? credits.tbl to be more exact.
"Hardcoding" credits into the code is just shameless. Volition didn't do it, and they made the game, they did all the hard work, now you do a little coding, mostly just enhancing already existing functions, and think you can engrave your names in it? nuh-uh.

Check the Credits.tbl... you can put anything you want in there.

If our credits are in a different file to be distributed with the exe it will just get lost. People will just give each other the exe and who could blame them. Thats the reason to hard code it.

We have put a lot of work into this.
Modders have the oppertunity to make videos with their names in the intro or outro. We coders cant do that. Actually the only reason modders can play videos through FS2 at all is because of HARD work by us!

As long as V's credits are always in there it OK.
This is not FS2 anymore, this is fs2_open and we disevre recognition for our efforts.


And vadar_1 I release that much of our work isnt apparent to you yet but please try and show some respect, some of us have put a lot of work into this.

Ultimately no-one is forcing you to use 'our' exe anyway.

OK, well unless anyone significant minds Im going a head with this. Im in the main code today for something anyway so I've put in a draft copy already and its great to see your name in the credits.

Heres what I have come up with (remember its a different font and centered)

What do you think?
Is there anyone important I have overlooked for being at the top or being thanked?

Perhaps Inquisitor could send me a list of coders just so I dont miss anyone out that I dont know about. If we ever need to change it, its all terribly simple aswell.
