Title: Internet Propaganda
Post by: an0n on October 05, 2002, 10:02:40 am
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/2299259.stm

It's one thing to go around openly crushing the rights and freedoms of the human race when you're doing it open-handedly, but to use lies, deciet and cries of equality and freedom of information to do it........That's just wrong.

I get the distinct impression that this was designed to be a plus even if it crumbles. If this little plan draws public outrage then methinks freedom of information will be branded as merely a tool for evil people to spread propaganda. And thus as a way of branding all hackers as terrorists.

Even here in the United Kingdom, blasphemy against Christianity is still a criminal offence. If I publish James Kirkup's poem, The Love That Dares To Speak Its Name, I could be charged with an offence.

Huh. Never knew that.
*goes to find the poem and put it on his site*

*urgh*... censorship again...  if people don't like what they see on the internet, then don't go on the internet, instead of trying to remove the freedom of everyone else.

I'm all for oppressing people, but if you're not smart/powerful/well-planned enough to do it in plain view then you shouldn't be allowed to do it at all.

I'm pretty sure that every politician in my state has their advertisements not about what good they can do, but that the other canidates are evil. I wonder if these ads is all over the US.

I'm not much for any sort of freedom aside from that of thought, but this is not really going to go anywhere anyway. :p

Errr..no. Basically it's a poem about some Roman centurion pulling down Jesus from the cross and having sex with him. IE, Postin-the-poem = Certain death/banning.
