Hey all, can someone please tell me what this ship needs? I've got the general idea of the body, but it needs SOMETHING, and I don't know what....

Try something along the lines of Hecate fins on the sides of the head. Or just on one side, and make it a tall senso/communications array, y'know?

My oppinion - extend the wings a bit (under a angle, like the old Valkyrie has), make the front end flater (without all those bumps), and add a visible gun(or two)
b.t.w. - clean your private messages, they are full.
There are several objects around the SDF-1 in the scene I sent you (a lower-poly models of the main cannon and legs)
-
Cleaned. Actually, those bumps are the two cockpits. I'm planning for this to be a two-seater.
And could elaborate more on the hecate thingy? What do you mean, exactly?
-
Here it is, almost finished, and weighing in at slightly over 1000 polys:

1000 polys :wtf:
Could you post a wireframe pic?
-
Yea, hold on. The thing is, the main body is a little high, but I can't reduce it without losing a TON of the geometry.

Now reduced from 1057 to 996. At least it won't screw up the engine.
-
wtf...I see none of the piccys, not even red x's...
-
DAMN IT!

What do you think of it? Could you get to the links I just put up?
-
yeah, I got those links, and I know whats wrong. The nose isn't curvy enough. You have a very curvey back, middle, but not the front. It also needs a bit more cockpit definition.
-
Done. I only have 1 small problem, where a small part of the model is "torn" i.e. there's a hole in it. Barely noticable though, but here's a front view:

Changes: Pulled in the top of the cockpits a bit more, and adjusted the nose.
-
can you get a perspective view of the 'adjusted' ship?
-
Kinda hard to see it at this angle:

Notice the blue spaces in the model's nose: That's the problem area.
-
Need to know what prog to be specific. I'm not going to assume you have a good loft function on yours, so you'd have to connect the vertices into polygons and fill them manually. You might wanna just overlay what you've got with distorted sphere primitives, though- less work and they'd probably look better.
-
sweep/extrude out the general area around the cockpit that isn't the cockpit. There should be at least a little bit of space around the sides of the actual canopy...
-
Better. You don't need two bumps to make it a two-seater, (as far as I recall the apollo is a two-seater). You can make two cockpits with good textures.
Try shortening the engine a bit, and perhaps adding two smaller engines next to it (left and right).
