Messing around with shadows/light settings for 3D Studio as well as beams.

the beams look good, but the lighting on the front of the engines (im assuming they are reflecting the lighting from the beam) dont look ... right.

Probably has to do with the way I positioned the lights. Hmmm....well that should be easy enough to fix. I was mostly working on the beams anyway.

I love the beams! they seem the have a lightning effect in them... Can you make them available in game or is this just for render?

Just for render unfortunately. There probably is a way to simulate the effect in FS but I wouldn't be the one to know how.

I like the beams, but they need big-ass muzzle glows.

Not really... the concept of FS2 beams apperently is to mass the energy outside the turret, then propell that energy (which should make the muzzle glow smaller as the beam progresses). However, If a beam has some sort of particle accelerator behind it... why would it need a muzzleglow?
