Title: Spam emails
Post by: CP5670 on October 11, 2002, 08:37:58 pm
I have been recently seeing a sharp increase in the amount of spam email I recieve; before I only recieved maybe one spam mail in three months (fairly normal ones), but I have gotten four of these things in the last two days and they have all carried something unusual at the end. They are your typical spam stuff, advertising for some sort of internet service, product, whatever. (you can make thousands of dollars in a week by doing such and such things etc. :p)

What I found really strange though is that the following (or some slight variant of it) was added at the end of every email.

Anyone know what this thing is? Does gamespy (this is a 3dap email address) use some kind of bot that scans suspicious-looking emails and adds the results of the scan data to the end? The link given there did not seem to offer much help. I'm just wondering what is going on here.

if you read the faq that they provide you, you can tell what it is. All your messages are apperently read by this thing, and it spits out a report why it could be spam. If you dont like it, get a better email system. Yahoo! mail just spits what it thinks is spam into Bulk Mail (and its right 95% of the time).

Well, at least there have not been any more spam emails for the last few days; hope it stays that way for a while. :)

What I do is take their "remove" address, and add it to every spam list I can find. :D  Payback's a ***** ain't it? ;)
