Title: Look - new Textures!!!
Post by: aldo_14 on August 11, 2001, 07:59:00 am
(lost my old post   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) )

The GTF Vesuvius remapped;

(no thruster flames, LODs, etc done yet)

I may add a little more to the textures when I think of something....

cool!
the only thing I don't like is the reflection in the cocckpit. Not the colour, that's all about tastes, but it could look more realistic: Make a mask in the glass parts (I suppose you did that, but leave a black edge between the metal parts and the glass parts. and try to locate it more on the top of the cockppit, not the middle.
Otherwise, it looks damn cool, could easily be part of a true full game ( I love this kind of mapings with writings and sinsignias everywhere, that's what I did for mt Abaris support ship, and I'll try to add that kind of stuff to the raziel and the ezechiel).

Never noticed the corruption there, actually.... i need to try some stuff resizing the maps.

(edit - it's a reduction thing, not a game prob - it looks fine in the tga screenshots (phew))

The cockpit is cnetred there cos it looks better to me (matter of opinion), and i used the red shade as I think that's the most likely colour of the internal lighting systems.

Thankyouverymuch, it's very nice to be complimented  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

The one thing I'd say is that I'm beginning to run out imagination for models  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) .... luckily I've still got 1/2 things up my sleeve to finish.

I've manged to sort some of the texture res ingame, I needed to reduce the colours before resizing, this seems to have helped reduce the 'jump' between text and hull, etc.

The one thing I would say is taht I wouldn't mind any offers of help with finalising the ocnversion stage, making interface data, etc, so any offers would be welcomed  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Nice texturing, aldo, but I admit to not liking grey and red colour schemes much. Nothing against your texturing, the textures are pretty good  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

In general, I believe its green.  Really, its whatever color your reticle is, so if you have red, its red, if you have green, its green.

I know there is a method, but all I see is madness.

Whoa. Those are of really, really high quality - thoroughly impressive. You truly are deserving of a 'legend' tag.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
