They also attacked (probably, the bombs were apparently within minutes of each other) the US and Phillipines Embassy. Killed a lot of Australians, and other tourists too. The group believed responsible isn't a part of Al-Quaeda, but has links to it. We already stopped another bombing on our embassy in Indonesia, so they hit a soft target. Arseholes.
So don't go to Bali, or Indonesia.

I don't even know where Bali is..
Did this just happen or was it earlier today or something?

for cryin out loud... won't it ever stop :mad
just two days ago someone detonated a bomb in a shopping mall... here in Finland (I can't say it will be big a relief for the victims or their relatives, but the bastard who was responcible propably blew himself too... bloody idiot, good for him). Children were among the victims too...
But his Bali incident is a big one again... and now it's tourists, I would like to say some strong words... ... *** ***** *** ******* ****
there...

You'll always find some instance of killing in the world. It's too big not to. However, it's just that now people see fit to link them. Which isn't to say there's no link - I'm just pointing out that people were oblivious before.
And yes, this happened sometime before 2AM GMT, which was when I saw it.
-
i bet its on CNN right now (3 am here).
if not i'll see it tommarow
-
Well, since we can't invade Bali... lets take a guess at who done it: I'm guessing its a political group.

Yeah... :mad::mad::mad2:
Now they're at Finland too, if it was a terrorist...
:mad2:
This is bad. You're safe at... nowhere.
Edit: Seems that it wasn't terrorism, but some crazy student who blew himself up, too.

Update: Look at www.independent.co.uk
Bali: 180 dead, 90 critically injured, many missing.
Finland: Apparently the explosion there was caused by a teenage student with no political links or suspected motives.
And since when has mass violence and terrorism not been about politics? The only ones who aren't are one-off spree killers, or serial-killing psychopaths like the Washington/Maryland sniper.
-
Allow me to rephrase, I meant I thought it would turn out to be someone similar to ETA, or the IRA, rather than old bin-liner and his lot.
-
Heard about this earlier today; it should stir up a sensation in the rest of the world. (which may be a good thing, actually)

There have been some speculations around here that this guy might be connected to a larger terrorist organization as well, but I personally think it unlikely, since he is not doing a very good job at his work so far. (or rather, he could do much better)

My deepest sympathies to any and all affected by the event of this weekend. Don't know what else to say, really. :(

Read about that. Tactically, they're morons- nobody's even sure what the hell it is they want. Doing this **** with a clear message behind it is one thing (bad enough, generally), this would qualify as "senseless" to the ultimate degree. Jerks.
