Post by: diamondgeezer on October 14, 2002, 05:14:36 pm: OK, I just watched a documentary on the phenomenon of so called 'Rods (http://www.roswellrods.com/pre.html)' - objects caught on film flying at hundreds of miles an hour, varying from only a few inches up to fifty feet in length.

Now, I'd imagine the Merkins here have prolly heard about this one before, but this is all new to me, and the footage I saw on TV tonight has me very interested. I'm quite convinved that there's something wierd going on out there, though I've yet to call them alien spies or anything... What do you think?

Post by: diamondgeezer on October 14, 2002, 05:38:27 pm: Yeah, but those are crappy shots. Some of the stuff I saw on the slow-mo replays had the little buggers zooming around people, and a huge one (estimated at 33 feet) appearing fomr behind a mountain ridge at over six thousand mph...

They can't possibly be beasties, or dead ones would have turned up by now. I also doubt they're beasties subject to different physical laws then ourselves (other dimensional or whatever), but most of all I doubt they're space beasties or alien critters.

Love to know what the lil' feckers are...

Its impossible not to believe in UFOs!! Unless your saying you have super vision and can identify ever flying object in the sky! There is a Huge Difference between an alien spacecraft and a UFO! Sorry but it really makes me angry when people get this wrong.

Ok. Who, here, has seen one of those rods? Looking at those pics, they're everywhere. So everybody should have seen at least one, right?
Oh, and being angry coz people say UFO is... sorry, but retarded. When people say UFO, they obviously think alien ship or something like that. Not being able to understand that, and getting angry because of it, shows a severe problem of narrowmindness (yeah, a neologism! ).

Its there lack of understanding that creates the problem, dont try to say that because they cant understand the difference, its somehow my problem for pointing it out. A UFO is a Unidentified Flying Object, is bears no correlation with alien spacecraft, because if you think its a alien spacecraft, you've just identified it in your own mind.

Yup, that's the idea. For one thing, you're supposed to have your camera running much faster than normal to be able to get even a couple of frames, so most tapes wouldn't catch them.

I saw that doc too, couldn't they just be meteorites creating disturbances through the atmosphere? skimming along the upper atmosphere might not make it burn to see flames, but enough to cause ripples.

That or it could just be ships from an alternate universe passing through in superposition.
