I just got back into playing Broodwar a few days ago. (Just FYI, I have two missions to go to finish the Protoss Broodwar campaign), but my CD-ROM drive just kakked yesterday. I dunno if I need the cd-rom in the drive to play online, but I can't play single-player until I get a new comp.

(Where's that "d'oh" smilie when I need it? )

[hides in bushes, machine gun ready]

Yes, yes, all of you gather in one place...

Yeech. Particularly on WarCraft- the original SC was cool, because it actually had GOOD cutscenes (a bit of a rarity), and BW was sort of all right because of the graphics and campaignmaker... but the game itself was just plain bad. Not awful, but still, bad enough that I want my $40 back.

Dude, Stryke, I think you're being too uncharitable. I loved Starcraft and spent days playing Starcraft LAN games with my friends. Screams of frustration, screams of triumph, screams of pain when a Zerg queen kept using Spawn Broodlings on my Seige Tanks...

I can't see why anyone would dislike such a great game.

But since I'm such a generous soul, here, Stryke, you can have $40 worth of methane to make up for your loss.

*farts profusely in Stryke's general direction*

;) :D

Ooh! More explosives!

[ignites methane]

[happened to be too impatient to wait until it was all out of Stealth, causing a rather disgusting explosion and shattering Stealth's spinal column irreparably]

I'd have a higher opinion of it if I didn't know of at least half a dozen strats that were many thousand times better. For a game with wide popular appeal, it was all right (this IS me being charitable, BTW- I'd sooner install a dangerous virus than that game), but mass-market games tend to be much like mass-market anything- in other words, crap from the pit of hell, requiring all of six functional neurons to appreciate and fewer than eight to enjoy.

Hmm, on a somewhat related note any of you play Earth 2150? Or Etherlords?

I have both SC and BW btw so I may be available for play sometime...

I can play SC...but not BW on this pos P200. why? everytime I put in the BW CD, the rom "eats it", meaning it won't eject and you have to open the drive manually.

So lemme hook up my other moniter and lemme find my SC CD and I can play ya right now!
