Its a PS2 game coming out November. And it has some things that makes it just a controversial as GTA3.

Eh...90% of the people buying are going to because of the half-naked (literally) women and the strip tease videos you can unlock.  It's...sad...

Smut for the sake of smut.

It's a shame that software companies are still seemingly unable to include adult content for storyline purposes, but rather decide that, if they have any sex of nudity (or references), the game has to be outragrous and 'xtreme' (in classical misspelt style).  I'm not saying we need regular shagging in games or anything, but surely there is a better way to make games more mature without going all the way into 'legit' porno.

jesus.. there is the internet.. and if you happen to look older than 18 there is the 7-11 down the street...

No reason to pay $50 dollars for a game for that reason. Of course all the people i know that would are also equally too stupid to do what i said above. go figure  :doubt:

Just looked the game up on a couple of sites... it looks...pathetic. :shaking:

And yeah, if you want porn - do a search on water sports and you'll find something about it. It's not like this game is doing anything new in the history of the planet in that respect.

I read a glowing preview on IGN. Apparently it's supposed to be more adult fun as opposed to jacking off material. I don't care, if it plays well then I may get it. Not sure though, BMX games tend to suck.

Along with BMXs and their riders. I mean, why is it that the siez of the BMX is inversely proportional to the size of the dude riding it - when I was in my final year of school (back in the day), the biggest dude in the year rode the smallest BMX ever. Proper Krusty the Clown job.

Is this even a game or essentially just a collection of porn movies? :p

You could have a character driven RPg where the attitude of characters towards each other is changed by, er, shagging each other's boy/girlfirend or something.  Ok, it'd have to be very delicately done (i.e. no, um, interactive elements) to work, but for most normal people, sex affects their lives in some way, so it's possibly usable.

Games are a bit like movies in the 50's as far as storyline goes, IMO.  There are still soem things that are taboo.

The game's been refused a classification over here (Australia), meaning it can't be sold unless it's suitably modified, in the same way GTA3 was. But in this case, I don't think we'll be missing out on much.

Well, a story based on the personal development of individuals in any way is not much of a story in the first place. :p

?

That's what almost every story in every other medium other than games is based on.  Hell, character development is crucial in ANY character driven storyline.

Exactly, and that is why that storylines in the majority of novels, movies and such almost characteristically crap (there are exceptions, but very few); their character-driven nature goes a long way in making them so. :p (as opposed to institution-driven storylines such as FS2) Characters are of course necessary in most cases, but everything should not be centered on them, or at least there should be some realistic and logical reason for doing so.

Most stories are written around someone's life...and the character himself.  It gives the audiance something to relate to.

One question: Are there any Shivans or shields involved? If not I'll pass cause I don't like sports games or porn games...

Second, a cool game that incorporates character feelings is Baulder's Gate II. That Aeire elf hits on you halfway through the game. The first time through I played the perfect gentelman (cause I was LG). But then my HD crashed and I said to hell with it. And said HELL YEAH! She spent the night in MY tent ;)  For the rest of the game she kept calling me her 'beloved'. Didn't she realise it was just a one night stand!

j/k I cultivated a relationship with her, but I wanted to finish the quest first before becomming to involved, she said now or never
