Ok, I spent some time modelling again, and I came out with two capital ships for the Dominion:

Except it looks like a fighter.  Seriously, it screams fighter, not capship.

second one is really very nice, first one doesn't completely convince me, althought its nice too;)
i'm just afraid to ask the polycount of secon one:)

Don't recognise the units but they look nice...

Ok, first of all, the Dominion are the Earth faction from caught in the middle... some very naughty dudes :D

Some of you say that they look like fighters... that can be true without textures, but with the texturing job I'm doing for them (it will take a while cause I'm a beginner at UV mapping, and I want them to look well mapped...), you will change your mind :)

Another thing, those pannels are in fact shields that protect the most important subsystems from caplital fire (the Dominion Cap's subsystems are very weak... ideal for surgical strikes...), and at the same time they are used to mount the turrents...

The poly counts are about the normal... won't bother to see them now though :P

Venom: they look like starlancer's intro?? Funny coincidence, cause I never saw that intro...


BTW, on another p1mping measure... your gonna love the Dominion destroyer too... but I will only show it to you when it is textured :)

I've used Dark's Vidar textures as you can see by now :)

Venom: I just saw the freelancer intro, and yes they do look like the Coalition ships, what leaves me wondering... I think I'm gonna model some of those cool ships for FS since they aren't going to appear in game and they are a lot similar to the othert Dominion designs...

Oh, about the Cernunnos, she is going through remodelling... I'm gonna make it more detailed, and higher poly count... for when the DX8 support comes out :)

About 2000... without those turrets... and that's a cruiser :)

BTW, a bit feedback on the textured Dekla would be nice :)

Reaven.. Are u mad?...2000p for that shape? is way to much..most features can be done by inteligent texturing...U should reduce the Pcount drasticaly.

That thing has too many ears. What with 2 on it's head. 4 on it's ass. I hope their set up as destroyable sensor subsystems.

even w/o changing the mesh itself, I guess there's a lot of waste with the polys.
btw, I have nothing against the 6 "ears", I like them actually.

Yeah, the 'Ears' really make this model.

For some reason though, this looks like a fighter to me, Raven. The turrets (very nice, Venom :)) look a bit out of place.  I'd say texture it as a fighter and make the Dekla the cruiser. :D

Ok, let's see:

Poly count... yeah, the poly count may be extreme, but I'm counting in the SCP team to make the game faster... the poly count is 1900 with those turrets (those have been placed quickly just for you to get a feel where the main turrets go, thats because the front one seems a bit off site...) the problem is that Ryx took a bad shot of it, and most of the details I've put on it aren't visible... for example you see that tower where the lower turret is??? well, that tower is a 8 sided "cilinder", but each face has been tweaked too look like an armor plate (kinda like a similar tower of Freelancer's Liberty Battleship... a ship that is about 4000 polys I guess)

Venom, I didn't steal your weapon pods, I made these myself, based on Starlancer's turrets that you see in some FMV's...

Now, this model is gonna be used in CIM's episode 2 or 3 that will take a very long time to be done... I believe that the SCP team will have improved the performance of FS2 by that time, so the models that are gonna be used on that episode are fairly based on freelancer's standards in terms that I've read that in FL, some models have 9000 polys!!!! There's my philosophy with this ship...
