If it's in range, then it will fire its beams at friendly and neutral ships

BUT you can disable its beams... and when it's done the waypoints, then you can enable them again, should you wish :0

But dude, even when it wasn't moving it still wouldn't fire. Yuo ****ed up that particular hostile spot somehow.. are you sure you checked all your events?

Are way points delay >  then set beam free all

or

Protect Ships from beam,  and you dont have to disable the beams,  depending on story,  wich ship you want to survive the battle,

But a ship with enable beam free all,  with or without giving it orders,  it will shoot the next hostile ship,   maybee the difference on fire rate may differ in orders,  but it will fire.  And Same as hostiles and friendly ships,  as fighters and bombers too will or may attack a neutral ship,  with this one i had some problems before,  that i was triying to make an approach to a neutral ship,   but the thing is its orders,  maybee it was set to attack any ship for fighters,   so they engage in my wing formation,  but the only thing i did it was to set it to ignore the target,   but then later on i come with better techniques to solve that problem.

EDIT:  I Think it was in IFF Unknown,  maybee that one was the problem,  that they started to shoot its target.
