It's pretty easy to do this actually; just make copies of the existing beams in weapons.tbl and replace the color bitmaps with beam-purple1 and beam-purple2. You can also change the charge-up graphic to beamglow5 and tweak the damage/sound settings as necessary. That's about all that is needed. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Semi inspired... but i never really watched B5, so I cna barely remember any of the ships in it.

Even in this one the only similarity is the spikes, except this time the added similarity is that they're symmetrically placed on the sides.
