Hi!
First of I'd like to say that what your doing is great!
What im asking(suggesting) is a daily or weekly(whatever...) binary update, done by some mystical hash scirpt or whaterever fits your needs. Sure I could do this but my knowlage on the current state of code would be most lacking.
Chears!
-
binary update, you dont mean an release exe do you?
-
well, yes. I meant the compiled .exe, not a update of the source code.
-
What for?
-
so he can play with it I would assume
-
Because Im sitting here jumping up and down, wanting nothing more than to spectate the rebirth of the best game ever.
I ( and presumably others ) want to see how fs2_open matures. And I dotn care if someone says it dosent run, Il download it and try it out anyway!
-
Perhaps monthly but I would have thought weekly and daily would be to often.
-
Could it be automated and require no additional work for anyone?
-
This has been done for many popular project using CVS, like the Miranda IM and Freenet Project. I know Freenet is compiled using no more than a hash scipt.
Set a computer to get the latest CVS and (try to)compile it every night.
-
I'll compile a relese build and pack them (debug and relese) together and put it up for you to play with
-
YAY! this is better than xmas!
-
now that bobboau's code is in, and some things have been cleaned up, it is time for an exe. I had planned on doing them once a month, but, folks started to get busy. I think we're getting caught up now.
Problem with automated builds is they need a working makefile, and ours is currently busted ;)
Lemme work on getting that sorted out as well...

there, there does seem to be a bug in the player's fighter beam sound code though
