Title: Need Texturer For One Off Job

Hi there, me again. Yet again Im looking for a texturer but hang on.... dont run away!

I only want one texture to be done, just one.

Im rapidly appraoching full support for 32 bit textures in any size your graphics card can handle.

I would like someone to create/improve a subsitute for V's texture for one of the fighters. Im thinking a texture size of about 1024 or 2048.

Since the DX8 exe is no where near finished its still got a few problems and the best candidates will have a GF card of some sort. Voodoo owners need not apply.

I know you people are all busy, in demand and probably already working for loads of MOD's but this isnt a massive job and it gives you the chance to have a direct say in how the texture support progresses.

Please e-mail or ICQ me for details. If Im lucky enough to get more than one person interested then I can always give them different fighters to do.

Please help, I cant texture to save my life.
I wouldnt want to have to subject you to my photoshop filter art.

Why not try the hi-res Athena maps? Check out the hi-res pack, I'm sure you'll find something. I know that the Lucifer maps are over 1000 in one direction, at least.

Damn, thats a good idea.
Cant believe I didnt think of that.
Once I get my head in the code I get a bit single minded sometimes.

As a side note... I am really wondering why :v: used hi-res maps on some ships in FS1 but in FS2 all were lo-res. :nervous:

Or why they didn't use ^2 maps in FS1... or why they started using tiled maps for all size of capships (as oppossed to the FS1 cruisers), or the daft glitch on the Aeolus textures, or why they started making all the fighters exactly mirrored.  There's a lot of changes between the 2.......

Mmmmm... interesting.

Just tryed using a 4096 x 4096 texture in fs2_open DX8, wasnt too happy about that. Could be a limitation of the loading code.

Then I tryed 2048 x 2048 and that worked just peachy.

However I would like your thoughts on the following, I took the hi res stuff lucifer texture from FS1 and used it on the model provided by FS2. It acted very strangey, the textures kept on changing from correct ones to the entire texture on one poly.
