An old ships final journey before decommision. *starting it's final journey, is what I mean*

I probably coud've tweaked some things more, but... meh.
Thanks to Ten of Twelve and Stunaep for the helpful comments. :)
I added some noise and text in PS, but nothing else was done in PS. The noise idea is really Reaperman's, or that's where I got it from anyway.

Gosh, they just made that ship not one month ago, and already its being decomissioned?! Wowser. :p

Very nice - you know I love widescreen. :D I like how many of the fighters are only visible by their engine glows - very realistic.

Not really.

I rendered out the image in 'widescreen' format. Thing is, you don't get the black bars at the top/bottom.
So, open up Photoshop, open the image and create a new image, with whatever resolution you renderd (in my case 1280x***. So for me it would be 1280x1024), and copy your render to the new image as a layer.

Fill the first layer black. And there's your 'widescreen' render.
Then I added text and a little noise to the render.

But otherwise this image was entirely rendered in MAX. Models, lighting, glows and motion-blur.

excellent lightning
my only comment: the ship looks like it's made out of concrete, but that's really just nitpicking. great work.

give it a bit of specularity and also mmove some of those cannons around - they're too regularly space on the hull to be effective

Its a nice shot, though :)

IIRC, I did add some spec to the carrier, though it would probably benefit from having real Spec and Gloss maps, though.

Wow! :eek2: That's very nice, and I agree with Sandwich that it looks very realistic that those fighters just have engine glows or they'd be hard to spot.
