:eek2: This is actualy my second FS2 render i ever made whit lightwave ! I am prety proud of it. It was also a render to see how my shield came out and i must say for a first timer on shields it doesn't look that bad.
So what do you people think?

try adding some kind of opacity map onto it so its not flaring all the way around - the shader seems tight though ;)

Hmm...your right, i'll try later;)
It's prety late:D
I have a nice plugin that could be of use otherwise i'll just add one in the surface editor.

Sweet. looks like a still frame from an episode of a scifi TV show. :D
-
A good first try  It seems a little..off (maybe it's just me?) but everything looks good overall.
-
Not bad. The Herc looks like it hasn't hatched yet, tho.

Does it look that much like an egg?:)

It's very good, but the flak explosions are odd. They have a corner. :p

Ooh, Dragons! We don't see enough of those ships! ;)

I bit so yea... like a plastic egg... you know the one you get inside a Kinder chocolade egg
Otherwise the render looks really cool, very intence battle

well, here's my constructive criticism:
The shield.
The Yellow beam. It is not a FS2 beam. FS2 beams have a white center. This one is more B5-ish
The beam glow of the Rakshasa is wayyy to big. Almost looks like an engine glow.
-
Nice, but I dont think you have those shield quite right

I can't stand that much bad humour. And if you look at my teachers, I can stand a lot.

That, and set the opacity down to like 10% and use a noise map for the diffuse map or whatever its called in LW. Then have the sphere affected only by one light source (which only affects the sphere of course) so that you'll have the shield flare on one side. This is how I do it in 3dsmax.

Put a nebula in the bg

Render is good but it's too much blurry. Thry to sharpen it a bit.
