one good thing is, if you need rewriting copy-protected cds (no warez here, just in for backup, etc.) is CloneCd http://www.elby.de/CloneCD/english/download.htm
(can't find the page link right now).

Get the blind write suite.  Search for it on google, and make sure that you don't pay for it:devil:.

If by 'don't' you mean 'do' then sure.

At the risk of being *****slapped by Shrike, you can try www.gamecopyworld.com - but like the disclaimer says, IT'S ONLY FOR PEOPLE MAKING BACKUPS OF LEGALLY OWNED DISCS. As long as that's what you're doing, they've got excellent linkage to various burning tools, as well as other handy gubbinz.

Just remember - LEGAL BACKUP COPIES ONLY. WAREZ ARE BAD!

I don't care about people burning stuff, it's a popular method of backing stuff up.  But there should be free writers out there, demos and whatnot, so people posting about 'making sure not to pay for it' are just asking for it.

Whatever you do, don't use Adaptec/Roxio software. The damn thing just killed ANOTHER CD,  maybe the tenth of eleven attempts to use the bleeding thing since the last crash. The one other one was when I did it via rather unusual means, too.

I've never burned a coaster with Easy CD Creator 4. But it's not freeware. (Direct CD + CD-RW's is cool. 650MB diskettes. :D)

Nero gets my vote - the wizard is easy as hell to use but you can get more in depth with it as well. I've also heard good things about Clone CD but I've never tried it...

Clone CD is a great utility for making backup copies...

I use FantomCD nowdays though (I was lucky to win a contest and receive a free reg code :D). FCD copies, makes images and reads them so sometimes I don't even have to use my CD's (it's a bit faster)

Go for clone-cd, or get nero and go to THE MONKEY KING to get a crack for it!

Nero still gets my vote... you can do anything with Nero that you can do with all other programs, and it comes with a 30 day trial... so if you like it you can buy it, and if you don't... well, you got to use it free for 30 days :D

but seriously, you can do ANYTHING... from mixed data/audio, to data, video CD, etc.

I just use the Adaptec thing that came with my drive; it works reasonably well. :D

Adaptec/Roxio softwares plainly suck. They have caused more trouble or headaches than anything else.

Nero and InCD is mostly what you need.
But I am also using CloneCD and CDRWIN.

Daemon-Tools is good think to have too. It's an application for advanced copy protection emulation with an implemented virtual DVD ROM drive.

You need links? Use Google. :p
