How do you convert from .cob to .pof while retaining all of the sub-models?
-
glue each submodel to the hull as a child?
convert the scene rather than the .cob?
-
Ok, this is how I do it right now:
I save the model as a .obj from MS3D. All the sub-models are preserved.
Then, I open the model in LithUnwrap, and save it as a .cob. However, I think it's at this step where everything becomes 1 object.
I REALLY don't have the time to put everything together in that program, if I even had the means to the way. So, is there any other way?
How bout if someone makes a program that converts from .obj instead of ****ty Truspace:mad:

Its called 3D Exploration
-
Which I don't have nearly enough money to register...
Can I send them to you for conversion?
-
I can do it, so long as it doesn't involve turrets. I can't do turrets or textures yet. :blah:
-
TrueSpace is the only program I know of that can save cob files without screwing up their hierarchy. LithUnwrap can save cobs with subobjects, but it may screw up the hierarchy. And as far as I can tell, TS1/2 are unsuitable for texturing.

So's TS3. You need TS4 at least for decent texturing. I use TS5.1 exclusively for modelling.
