I just watched that 'horror' movie 'The Ring' - quiet horid, quiet horid
I think I'll have nightmares, gawd
anyone else watched it? opinions?
-
this movie looked horrible from the commercials (A gril with a ring above her head screaming and it was bleeped out, or soemthing to that effect)
my friend saw it today and said it was ok...
i don't get why anyone would see it over jackass unless they were with their gf though. :blah:
what was it really about by the way? (put in black for the pissypeople who don't want it spoiled)
-
basically as follows:
girl hates people
girl expresses it
video kills people 7 days after watching
people try to figure out how to stop it
people find girl's corpse
people gets rid of it (buries it properly - the police do in fact)
people find that she's still active - she never sleeps
people are sad but find they can evade it by making other people see it
like so...
-
...
 /:wtf:
i guess that mad more sense than what my friend said
There's a video, an dyou watch it. After you watch it , you die in seven days. They didn't figure out why.

Cause I have an IQ over 60?

I'm not saying jackass isn't moronicly stupid, but i would personally rather pay $ 6.50 to see people near kill themselves in way i never thought of before than watch the above movie if i had to choose.
-
I'd rather see "The Ring"
-
I take it this is a Merry Can remake of the Japanese 'Ring' series?
-
...[black stuff]
like so...
this has to be the craziest story I have ever heard, if it can even be called that... :p
-
Personally, I'd rather have my eyeballs skinned by a hairy ex-con named "Brutus" with amorous designs on my leg than watch either of the above movies. Goes doubly for Jackass, tho- TWO hairy ex-cons!
-
When Jackass opens over here, I'm so gonna be first in the queue. Jackass remains the funniest thing on TV - even my house mate Big Gay Mike laughs at the clips I downloaded, despite claiming to hate the show...
I just hope the movie includes more Oompa-Loompa skateboarding...
-
well CP there's supposedly some kind of scientific explanation later in the series....
-
I've see the Japanese version. Well I've seen half of it, I spent the rest of the time looking at the wall. It was both asuming and scary when the woman with long hair clambered out of the TV.

This happens in the movie "Bad Company" with Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock.
I saw The Ring in the sneak preview, which was like 11th October (i think)
scared the crap out of me

scared the crap out of me... it was a small theater, and it was late at night, which helped the atmosphere...
usually when i go see a movie i get a large coke, as i did this time too... after seeing a movie my bladder's usually full of coke, and i go to the restroom right after...
This was the first movie i can remember that i didn't have to go the restroom after the movie. not at all! i guess all the soda came out as sweat and urine *during* the movie.

The Ring scared the living **** out of me!!! :shaking: :nervous: :shaking: :nervous: :shaking: :nervous:
One of the best thriller/horror movies in a long time in my oppinion! Its quite hitchcockish too, which I like.
über-spoilerish description of my experience to follow:
When I started watching, I wasn't really expecting anything. I saw the trailer and went "meh..."... And when the movie started the first fifteen minutes I went "meh..." though there was a few frights in it. So I naturally expected a teeny fright movie, thankfully I was mistaken. The movie takes a turn into the twilight zone like it was an episode directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The movie just gets more and more tense with short little shocks in between to keep you on you're toes. Anyway, the story unfolds nicely, if not a tad ackwardly( didn't really explain it all, but who cares)! But what really ****ing freaked the hell out of me is the ending. I'm a sucker for twists...
It seemed to end just like any other typical horror movie, they think the girl did the tape in order for them to find her corpse and bury it so that she can finally rest... Happy music follows, the end... HELL NO! You find out afterwards when the heroine is safe in bed talking to her son that the girl they "saved" is REALLY EVIL! And low and behold one of the freakiest scenes I've ever seen unfolds on screen in front of me.... The tv comes on... You see the well they saved the girl from... She proceeds to climb out... All rageddy and her face covered by long raggedy black hair.... she walks forward towards the camera in a REALLY ****ING FREAKY way.... She proceeds to climb out of the tv... She continues her freaky walk with a new added "fastforward" walk, that just scared the **** out of me! And so forth... I mean ****! Nothing scares the **** out of me more than a raggedy EVIL looking little girl walking like "that".... The ending did it for me. I mean, the movie isn't at all scary compared to that ending... I mean, I love horror movies but now I can't even consider gonig to sleep infront of my tv.... :( :nervous: :shaking:
-
She proceeds to climb out of the tv...
what the heck?! They better have a really good explanation for this... :p :D

I feel safer knowing that now fo sho. :blah:

It's Japanese, and therefore odd :)
I watched Ring 2 without having seen the first one, so it was confusing as well as scary. We spent the next week or so screaming loudly every time we saw a TV screen full of static or japanese women with long hair...
Lesse now... oh yes - we watched Ring 2 at about three in the morning, then decieded to go out for a walk in the fog. Yea verily did we ****e ourselves when a car seemed to appear out of the mist next to us. Luckily, it was only the coppers wanting to know why we were out and about at five am, and where we had been during a break in several hours previous...
-
I saw the movie, and the only thing that made it good was the fact that it was scary. I mean honestly, a tape that kills you? It sounds like it belongs in that movie "Urban Legends".
But thats just my opinion.
-
Thats the point, it was an urban legend. However, the tape itself wasn't really the MAIN issue of the movie. Samara was.

sounds that way. i'll stick with the original; it was scary, and no stupid girlfriend problems :P
-
On the subject of movies, any one know what '28 Days Later' is all about? I thought it looked like a remake of Omega Man at first, but now I'm not so sure...
BTW, download a desktop Two Towers countdown here (http://www.clockdown.com/downloads/LOTR2ClockdownV2_3.zip). Not long now
-
Some kids in my class liked it.
Some hated it.
I haven't seen it so...

there were girlfriend problems in "The Ring" (the new edition i mean)?
-
I'm very disappointed. I watched this movie expecting to be scared or freaked out or something and what do I find? Booooooooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Bleh, the story is odd. I think I would much rather see Jackass :p
Sorry to all you guys who wussed out at the movie, but I think you're wussies. :D
-
hehe, I was talking to him while he was watching it - it probably would've been scarier ( a bit) if you'd been watching it all alone on a big tv in a dark room ;):ha:
-
I guess you are talking about the remake?
Havent seen it, dont care.
I saw the old one not so long ago in a dark room in an empty house and it scared the crap out of me. :shaking:
Great film (the original), I like to 'get into' films and with all stuff like this you have to 'let' it scare you, if you dont want to be scared you probably wont be in which case you've just wasted nearly 2 hours.
Ring 2, not so good, started off OK but then just went insane.
