Just wondering, anyone ever bothered to make a Triton-sized Vasudan freighter (or megafreighter, as the case may be)? There seems to be a gap in the Vasudan freighters..there are a lot of them, but they're all small and weak.

People don't usually focus on making Vasudan vessels these days. It's usually Terran or Shivan. :(

And that shortage is universal, not just limited to freighters. Trouble with Vasudan models is that they are so "organic" in construction, and that's really hard to pull off. There have been some good Vasudan destroyers started recently, but I am not aware of any post-FS2 era Vas. caps that are actually released.

Actually there aren`t that many shivan craft either. :( Most modellers tend to work on Terran craft. I did have a go at a few vasudan craft but I think I`ll stick to terran ones until I have a little more experience with TS4. Most likely other modders stay away from vasudan craft for similar reasons.

It's 'cos were a bit racially predjudiced, aren't we? I mean we are all Terran, ('cept Carl, o' course:D ). Bot you're right, terran ships are a series of boxes, where vas and Shiv vessels are all curvy (mainly, thought the basiliask and maticore are a bit square)

I also ran into this Vasudan freighter problem (lack of something capable of carrying TC-TRIs and meson bombs) a long time ago in my of my missions and had to put in some excuse for having a Triton there instead. The Satis really needs a docking point; I am going to try and add one onto it tonight. I think this ship is probably used for hauling fragile cargo that is too sensitive to be loaded into cargo containers, but being a freighter it needs to be able to move around the containers as well.

:wtf: The Satis used to have a docking point in FS1. What happened to it?
You might be able to convert the FS1 pof to FS2 format and use that. Boom: docking point, hardly any work. :)
-
Of course the Satis has a docking point! It's on top. What are you on?
If you don't believe me, play the first mission of the main FS2 campaign and stick around. Voila, the two Satises dock with the underside of the Psamtik.
Everyone's been saying we need one. Has anyone volunteered to make one?

In my copious free time, I'll produce a mesh for one, if anyone wants to take over after I do the LODs and the debris. I'm ****e for anything else, still. It'll come after I get the first round of 158th models done though.

I'm making some TAC ships that could double as Vasudan ones (they were supposed to be originally, before I killed off all the Vasudans- hence the names, things like Soleb and Ammit)... You'll see 'em in a week or two. Or three.
-
You don`t really need a new pof just to add a docking point to the satis. In fact you don`t even need a reskin.
However the Satis already has a docking point so what are you lot talking about?
-
The problem with the Satis is the name of the docking port. It's just "docking port" not "cargo dock" which means FS2 won't let it dock with TC-TRI's or other cargo types. (The Brontes, which can't be called Vasudan by any stretch of my imagination, has 2 identical docks because of that, some have to use one or the other.)

Fair enough but 5 seconds in PCS should end that problem. Like you said two identical docks with the same paths and different names should end that problem.

I'll take it!
