I know you guys hate long paragraphs, so I'll make it short. :p I have released the Morgan Technologies Gauntlet for the Freespace 2 community. It includes "new" ships, many of them... Well, you'll find out.
If you can, play the mission with the FS2_Open_3.2 and its Homeworld-style beams. :D
Download it here (http://pages.prodigy.net/descent_fan/Dump/mtech.zip).
EDIT: Fixed Link
EDIT: Because of popular request, I have modified the "mtech.zip" file to include the newly updated "ships.tbl" file with all redundant/useless entries eradicated!

Sweet. *waits for download to finish* :)

This is really stupid, next time - try to make the release actually work. This has so many missing pofs its not even funny.

Hmm... That's queer. I had a workmate try it out and he said that it worked out FINE.
If you are mentioning the Tech Room models, then yes, there are some models missing, such as the Shivan installation Arachnas. But if you just run the mission from the Mission Simulator, then it should be fine. ;)
If you are still having complications, then specify the mission POFs by PMing me and I'll try to fix it ASAP.

First impressions:
I think this stuff, and that ship in particular, need some more work. Aside from at least one bad face that let me fly into the thing, that ship seems far too big. And it could use some better texturing I think. (Like the hangar bay walls textured with the lights texture.) I also didn't really like the invisible, but solid, wall in the middle of that huge hanger bay. There's really no reason for it that I can see and it was really annoying. (I ended up doing a lot of my fighting in the hangarbay.) Didn't get far enough to check out all the ships, but then I was doing odd things like going inside that ship (and getting hit by beams that shouldn't have been able to fire at me) and had other stuff to do. I also think the mission could use work. You start off far too far away. (When one is doing a mission for the first time, you shouldn't feel you have to go to 4x speed and barrel towards enemy ships with full afterburners rather then sit around and wait for minutes till they get to you. :) ) I also don't see the point of all the regular ships in a "tech demo" for a campaign. AFAIK, none of the regular ships were modified so why include them? Last but not least, the goals should have been listed better in the F4 objectives screen. Granted, this is just a little demo type thing, but maybe this info will be useful for the actual first release.
PS What the heck is a Pyro doing in a FS2 MOD? (Or at least in the ships.tbl since the model's not there.) It's a Descent series ship. :)

That's funny. Worked all right for me. :doubt:

I think this needs some work. So far, you aren't even close to doing anything as good as Derelict. Just because you're making the sequal to an awesome campaign doesn't mean you don't have to work, and everyone will think it is great. No, you will have to work twice as hard to make it as good.
EDIT: Just played it. I agree with vadar on this one. This is stupid. Couldn't you have removed it from the tables? If this is a taste of Derelict ][, then it is pretty sour, and I'm not downloading the real thing unless it is MUCH better than this.
EDIT2: The models that are done look okay.

Okay, a lot of negative criticism, just as I expected. ;) (Not that I don't like it. I think negative criticism helps a lot.)
First of all, I don't have the time. I cannot be compared to you wonderful teenagers. My entire day flees by me after doing SO LITTLE things. I can't get enough done in one day. I'm SOOOOOOO BUSY. I got kids failing my history class. It's not even funny. I got tests to grade and criticize, let alone do a mission on my own.
Second of all, I agree that my mission design skills are very rusty. (Mainly because I don't have the time nowadays. If I really have the time and spend more than 1/5 of my day doing missions, I believe that I can pump out some formidable missions.) I never had enough time to learn all the SEXP commands. (Most of them I don't even know their purpose. I didn't know that most of them are ---- there. :D)
Third of all, I'm braving myself to make a 40-mission campaign by MYSELF. It's similar to trying to break a stone with an egg. I had this idea for about TWO YEARS and once almost scrapped up to 7 missions by myself. If possible, I COULD use some manpower. But that also meets some problems. I don't have an web site, and now that I published the Morgan Technologies Gauntlet, most of you guys probably wouldn't want to work with me anyway. Then again, I DON'T HAVE THE TIME!
Last of all (or "lastly"), I spend [counting fingers] less than TWO HOURS on the Morgan Technologies Gauntlet. If every student in my class aced my tests, then I WOULD have ample time to kill, but that's not even close. :p.
Thanks for the criticism, it will assist me greatly in ways I don't know --- yet.

Mission is good. Shows exactly what it is supposed to. We're just complaining about the fact that half the ships don't work.

Half of the ships don't even exist in this release. :p
But just to calm your qualms (try to say that several times), I will update the ships.tbl file when I get home to eradicate the entries where I didn't include the POF file. It works fine on my workmate's computer, but he probably has a earlier version.

I have fixed the file with the updated "ships.tbl" file. It's still the same link above. So check it out! I hope that your problems have been eradicated!
