... Unless that IS CP...

I was thinking he was going to have to rewrite his encryption program! Someone figured it out! :D
-
Now if someone could give that kind of processing power to the cause of gaming! :p
-
hello 3000x2500 resolution (or something insane like that) 32x AA... 1280x1024 textures.....
*drools*

Ah, this cryptography stuff is the main application of number theory; pretty neat stuff. But any discoveries I make will probably be in slightly stranger areas. :D ;7 (fractional "derivative chains," anyone? ;7)
You're right about this though: :D

*grabs special functions book and tries some more problems*

have you seen the leaked Doom 3 screenshots? not quite at that level, but close enough... :D

I have 2 things to say. Number one:
[q] It took the power of 10,000 computers running around the clock for 549 days....[/q]
[q]...the remaining $2,000 to two men whose computers helped solve the problem. [/q]
:wtf:
Number two: the advertisment in the middle of that article caught my eye a bit more than the article itself:

;7

Pfft. From the amount of computational power employed, it looks like it's nothing more refined than a brute force approach. If the guy was really good, he'd have done it without using a computer.
:p

And that's indeed a lot more interesting than the rest of the news. :D

:wtf: Styxx, edit, don't spam! :p ;)

Not mine, as I properly added /us.a1.yimg.com/ to my HOSTS file long ago. Nice how much faster pages load when they don't have to bother with the ad images.

Watch out, Zylon - your nose is so high up in the air Osama might mistake it for a skyscraper and crash something into it... ;) :p :D
*ducks hail of retorts and runs*
Actually, I recently reinstalled Win2k, and haven't had the incentive to reinstall the ad filter proggie I used to use.

Edit: Zylon: If you're online can you connect to Im.

Ah-Hah! So THAT's where the little bugger is! I'd been wondering why there were so many "bad link" ads all over the place - apparently I already have a hosts file - I'll attach it (.txt added, of course). :D

umm...EVERYONE that uses windows has a hosts file. Thats why 127.0.0.1 is recognized by your computer as localhost. MY particular hosts file has been modified so that it blocks most commonly used ads.
