Well I am not sure if this classifies as a render (gotta consult the experts), but anyway, here is something I made from Inferno ships. Hope you guys like it. Any suggestions and comments are welcome. :)
Credits go to:
- Woomeister, Venom and other Inferno moderes for the ship models
- Babylon Project team for the Earth background they provided.
LOOK FOR THE LINK IN MY NEXT POST

Can't you attach it or use IMG tags? I can't get to it.
-
OK it's fixed now.

I think your post self-destructed....
-
Dude, you don't need to use HTML if you're using IMG tags.

Its probably done in psp or sumthing similar... So it isn't a render...
Ow and I can see that you've cutting and pasting like hell... The space background differs in certain places. :p

Thought that might help.

heh, thats a lovely 1x1 blank image....
-
I have used Microsoft Paint and Photoshop for effects. But you gotta admit, the engines and beams are the best I made yet. I don't know how to render using 3d programs. Can someone point me to some kind of tutorial?
-
Blank image indeed.

*shrugs*

I know, but this is my third render so far. If you darken your monitor brightness a bit, it should look better. Besides, I didn't use any 3d program except modelview. It's all been done in paint and photoshop 7.
-
Look around ...I know it's posted round here somewhere...check the SAAB thread in the FS mod forum I THINK the links are there.....but Truespace 1 is still downloadable for free as a full version....it's not the best but it's free and would allow actually rendering :)
If nothing else it's a good starter program.
-
Using looking at it via this monitor (which isn't mine, thank god) I can see two background 'blacks'. One looks pure black (look around the Terran ships) and the others a greyer black (look around the large Shivan ship). It might not be visible on yours, I think I can seee it because the gamma and brightness on this monitor is too high.

*COUGH* USE BLENDING OPTIONS* COUGH*
:p
you didnt blend it 1 bit lol no wonder it looks like well crap i can see differences perfectly on my monitior so blend the picture :)
-
He said it was his first, give him a break!
Yeah looks fine but those two contrasting colors of space (Black and grey patches are just too distracting!!!)
-
Actually it is my 3rd ever done render, but it is the first of the better ones. Th first two had crapy engine glows or almost no glows and there were no beams. Thanks on the blending tip. I will work on it a bit tonight.
-
Still see a 1x1 blank gif...
-
Check the Warlocks link.
Dang! I need to find a good site that can host my work.
-
Now about that site, can anyone point me to something other than VillagePhotos, Geocities or Angelfire. I just finished a new render and I need comments and suggestions. I was even able to remove the evil flares and I have improoved the engine glows on ships. Come on people, help me out here! Please.
-
Ok. Here are the renders I created. Tell me what you think. Note that this is on Geocities and there might be problems with viewing these pics.

The one below is made black and white. You know, in memorium of the Galatea and the Great War.

Rrrgh...
1. Get your own account and webspace. It doesn't cost much.
2. Fattonys has an upload for some light stuff, so long as you don't take up too much space I think that's what the upload service is there for, until you have your own space.
-
I did follow the link. Nothing but a 1x1 image called 'spacer.gif'.
Anywho, the two pictures you posted just recently show up just fine. If I were you, I'd concentrate more on the stars. They're too uniform, and they all appear to be the same brightness. I'd suggest that you use two of three different starfield filters (assuming you're using MAX). A nebula in the background couldn't hurt either. Don't use a bitmap nebula either. Use multiple noise filters instead. They look a whole lot better, and actually look good in animations. :)
-
Thanks for the tips but I didn't use max or anything like that. If you have seen my previous posts, I only use MS pain and Paint shop pro 7. I don't know yet how to add backgrounds but it has to do something with layers. Anyway, what I think I did worked out better is getting off those evil lense flares. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
-
So which one do you like better? The colored one or the black & white one?
-
By the way, I made a background to stick to this render of myne, but I don't know how. It has something to do with layers. Can some of you help me out here?
