That's discriminating against the Vasudans and Shivans who visit this board.  They might get angry.

And you know what happens when Vasudans and Shivans get angry... :nervous:

Sheesh, 25x25 too small for ya whippersnappers? Can't "express yourselves" with anything less than a 1280x1024 32-bit image? Feh. :ick

I know. I have a couple of Ideas that need to be bigger - not much, but a little bit - they're unreconizavble ATM :(.

Hmmm.... well, the size constraint is due to Shrike's panicy reactions to his smiley box being disorganized... ask him. I'd love to see what you guys can come up with regardless. :)

Good Q... There wasn't much real competition, though... kinda disappointed. :doubt: Oh well.

I'd organize a voting thread, but I've not the time... perhaps Setekh can do it. I'll bug 'im. ;)

I think the size/dimension restrictions were too strict to effectively do much Freespace-specific. That probably killed the contest.

Yes, like I said, it was too restrictive to do MUCH in. The small number of entries attests to this. There's very little iconic imagery in the FS universe that would lend itself to such a small format. Getting FS-specific practically requires animation (headz, beam cannons, etc).

As far as disrupting the smiley grid, there's no reason you couldn't create a 15x15 thumbnail of a larger smilie.

BTW, WTF is that red thing hovering at the tip of the smoke plume in the :thepimp: smilie?

Ghost hat.

For that matter, all emoticons are disembodied, noseless, improbably spherical heads of an unhealthy color.

Do most of the HLP forums have white backgrounds?

Nope.

Doesn't matter if those black pixels are there or not when you can't see them. :ha:

You were asking what the red thing was. I doubt the creator of that smiley was thinking about black backgrounds when he drew it, so it doesn't matter that on black it looks disconnected. It's connected. Live with it. :p
