ack bad lighting and from what i can see, it looks a little cartoonish.
Try making the edges sharper or something.
-
and since when is star trek real
:p :ha: :nervous:
-
:wtf:
-
there is something always wrong with my renders, i like them all, why dont you. I dun get it :/
-
.. i didn't say it was bad. I said it needs work.
don't post it in the art forum if you don't want people who have no idea how to even do anytihng half as good to come in and tell you it needs work. That is what an art forum is all about.
how bout lighting up the impulse engines for starters.
-
umm they are lit up..... trust me when i first got the model nothing glowed had to find colours and mess arround with them for hours to get stuff to glow the way i wanted them to....
-
they look a very dark dull red to me, where as in the tv and movies the impulse engines when active, are bright red.
whatever, i'll let somebody else do my *****ing.
-
Dude .... I think even if the guys doing animations for FS2 itself posted images here they'd still have ppl giving them pointers and ideas. A word of advice if you'regoing to act negative to any critics in here .... before long you'll just have noone looking at your pics at all.
Just take comments lightly and understand noone's slamming your work...just giving tips and suggestions to improve them.

k so how do i make shadows sharper?
-
use raytraced shadows instead of shadow maps.
also with the lighting...add another spotlight somewhere above the ship but out of the camera's field of view, just to light it a little bit more.
-
i have a newer monitor (or its just a better monitor) the picture is perfect on my screen and ot dosent burn out the screen if you acidentaly leave your moni on ..... and PS there IS a spotlight ontop of the ship to light it up a bit more i think its nicely lit up :)
-
Shouldn't that be "Journey's"?

If the sentence can be reworded as "End of Journey", then, yes, it is 's. If it can be reworded as "Journey is End", then it should be 's again. If it should be plural, there is no '.
If you ever learn Latin (Probably a number of other languages too...), the difference will be evident very, very quickly.
Edit: Did a little work on the image:

Take a look at my latest render (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,11220.0.html), again (sorry 'bout the p1mp Ash). It's decently lit and tweaked a bit in PS. Perhaps your Gamma settings are too high.
-
donno maybe lol
-
Damn, you guys need to not show up eachother with the same renders when you look the same.
Oh and bout' the engine thing, i didn't mean crank up the contrast, but like could you make them glowy maybe?
-
the impulse glows are strange the color dosent allow to glow nicely :( the luminosity is at 30 and glow intens is 100 same as warp nacells
-
Actually that looks like a brightness adjustment that WM did, not a contrast. A well executed adjustment of brightness and contrast together could have lightened and sharpened things things up wonderfully without the greywash effect.
