Very good work. I`m impressed :D

Are the Kiev and Andropov influenced by Starlancer by any chance? It's just the russian names that make me wonder :)

actually, no; i've never played starlancer and drew up both concept sketches mor the colonian ships myself...went after the stereotypical industrial look often associated with russian machinery though, so thats probably where the resemblances came from; as well as the names.

Holy boomstick wielding Dog Slut! Those rock! No, really! See admins? This is why we need :jaw:. :eek2: simply doesn't cut it!

2 questions - who did the textures? (they deserve as many congrats as Mikhael, assuminmg he didn't do both)
and will those angled turrets actuallly work klike normal barrelled turrets? I remember something about barrelled turrets needing to be perpendicular to the hull - my memory could just be screwed though...

Once again :jaw:. Excellent work. :yes2::yes:

The introductory act for the 158th is set on Earth, with an emphasis on aerospace craft, I believe. The fans are what keep the ships up. ;)

Narol can give more detail.

*SMACK!*

Its called a typo, nimrod.

The problem with VTOLs is that they burn a lot of fuel for not a lot of lift. In that way, rotors are more efficient. You get lift from both downward force AND from aerodynamic lift effects.

Besides, the enemy units use reaction jets for lift. The use of fans seperates the two fleets visually. And fans rock. :)

Set in late 2260, Exposition will place the 158th in the middle of a Sol civil war over dwindling resources; splitting into the E.A. and the Colonial Confederacy.  Much of the combat will be in atmosphere, although there will be a fair share of space missions.  For the most part, E.A. ships will be of higher technology while the colonial ships will be larger, meaner, but clumsier.

Those first ones kind of remind me of my Dominion vessels, with those nice shield plates :)

They're very good :)

Yeah, that kinda gave me a jolt when, after modelling the Kiev, you posted your Dominion stuff.
