Title: Diamond Geezer's Movie Reviews
Post by: diamondgeezer on November 10, 2002, 10:50:40 pm
Hokay, went and saw me 28 Days Later last night. Imagine Omega Man meets Resident Evil, but English, and you've pretty much got it. Not the best movie ever, but it's got squaddies with SA80s blasting seven bells out of plague-ridden zombie critters, and that's what counts. For the record, I dunno if you Merry Cans will be seeing it, but give it a look if you can since I think it makes an excellent diversion from all those Hollywood sci-fi action movies whilst avoiding the pitfall of being crap.

DG gives it :yes::yes: and a half out of five.

Also, trailers - saw the big-uber-who's-yo-daddy Two Towers trailer and :eek2:... I'm gonna need to tie my jaw to my skull, or it'll be hanging open for three hours  Also, a trailer for a film called Death Watch... Movie-List.com (http://www.movie-list.com/d/deathwatch.shtml) describes it as

Quote
The story of a group of nine young British WWI soldiers who get cut off in a captured German trench, and start being killed off one-by-one by a mysterious assassin who might *not* be human.

OK, it sounds crap, but the trailer was both :shaking: and :eek2:... a squad of British soldiers capture a forward German trench which was inexplicably abandoned... or so they think (cue uber-dead German soldiers and much footage of miscellaneous body parts). I'll be there when it opens

This has a been a public service announcement by Diamond Geezer on behalf of GeezerSoft UK and Worldwide. GeezerSoft UK and Worldwide thanks you for your attention, and wishes you a pleasent and safe drive home. Vote DG.

[EDIT] Er... this is somewhat embarrassing, but if an admin is reading this could they please fix the s/p in the thread title? It's causing me no end of mental anguish :o

Sounds kinda cool...

Anyone seen 8 mile? s' anygood?

Oh yeah, i saw a trailer today for an Adam Sandler cartoon (:wtf:) movie. He is seriously milking it out of the hannukah song.. it was a funny song but... :wtf:

I suppose i'll see it, although Mr. Deeds makes me iffy. That movie wasn't funny at all.

Just saw the trailer for Death Watch. This reminds me of a prelude I wrote for one of my Vampire: the Masquerade RPG characters. He was turned into a vampire in those same trenches...

I am sooooo going to see this movie. A war and horror movie; how can it go wrong? Well, quite easily, actually, but I'm still going to see it!:D

Dude, 'Geezer, thanks for telling me about this!

I'd also recomend any to go and see 28 Days Later if it's your kind of film. I was a bit annoyed by the slightly blurryness of the image (it was filmed using a digital camera). Go see it.

I'll also have to look out for Death Watch sounds rather interesting.

ROTFLMFAO!

Dude, Dekker, that must have been the funniest thing I EVER heard in my life!

After listening to this I can finally understand why punk rock started in England...

Of course, being an Argentine-American, I'm not sure if I'm qualified to rate anything coming out of England...:nervous:

All the same, this song kept me entertained, even if I could barely understand a word of it! :D

Those Brits are cool peeps but their diverse accents make it hard to understand them... J/K :D

I'm gonna go listen to it again! Dekker, did you record this?:)

I have no doubt that your mother is refined enough and sophisticated enough to dine with the Queen. That said, I suspect you and your brother take after your father... J/K ;)
