I just found this 2-day old bird in a neighbor's driveway. What do I feed it? It's old enough to sip water on it's own, but is it able to eat food, or should I pre-mash it?
BTW, sorry for my total withdrawel from the FS2 community. You probably should expect me to be gone for a long while.
-
I should think something pre-mashed if it's only 2 days old...
-
Is it birds that abandon their young if they smell they've been around humans? If so you might have a long term project there.
You should grow a beard like Peter Griffin.

Find some worms then mash them up a bit... or some noodles, not much difference.
-
I always thought that the mother eats things like worms then comes back home and regurgetates them.
 Start chow'n down UT.
-
It wants water and pieces of bread.
-
Give it milk and small peaches of bread after 2 months go get some birdsseed.
-
Where can you find peaches of bread? Sounds tasty

Tek it to the RSPB or RSPCA. Or what ever you have in your part of the world. You try to look after based on this lot's recommendations, and it'll die. In any case, if you basically hand-rear it, you'll never be able to release it in to the wild. And it's prolly more than two days old if it's out of the nest. It must have been able to at least flutter down to the ground, and I doubt a two day old chick would even be recognisable as a bird...

Why feed it? Use it to feed yourself.
-
Because UT's not a plasma beam-wielding pentapod... UT mate, I would seriously get that bird handed in to the experts before it drops dead.

Now i remember that last year i found a baby bird, then i took it to my home, what i give him was, bread mashed in water i think, yeah, then i took, like a some sort of inyecction, without the needle, then i fill it and started to fee it, what i do was hold his head that his neck was straight so the food went down to his "sack" i dont know whats the proper meaning that they have, is like a bag that is in front of their chest, when its full, that is, its no more hungry, and its actions can prove to that he is not hungry, like going back for no more.
Many things you can feed him, bread, other nutrients, you can ask for better assistance with a pet shop or a veterinarian.

Feed them the soft bread centre soaked in milk until you can get it to the RSPB, RSPCA or something simmilar.

No but you've got to admit that recently, the ol' flame-throwers have been using up the juice.
