My first FS action shoot! Got the idea from the box my FS copy came in. :P

Are those dragons?
Drop the smoke and turn it into !small! explosion.

I'm using the Apollo and Dragon from this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,11314.msg210607.html#msg210607). You see Blender has this feature where it can show textures with out the need of lights. This is what I used to get its Shivan look. So lights have no effect on it.

iiiiinteresting....either make the smoke stuff a helluva lot shorter, and make it partally transparent...or turn it into a small explosion. and for the love of god...at least photoshop or paint in a bright white line in the middle of those shots...they look really corney without that.

The sparking effect is very well done, but the smoke needs work... Im not exactly sure what-on though. Maybe localize it in certain spots instead of this big thick mass coming out the back. Or maybe some flaming debris, or ionized particle trail.

You know in the FS1 open how the two left engines are on fire and smoking. Thats exacy what I did here. But this time its the two right engines.

It's still there, it's just not really lit except from one side, and is given the same transparency/bump/reflect/glow values as everything else.

hmmm i can see it now that i look really hard in the second to the last pic, i thought it ended at the metal. But in the last one I can't see it at all.
Sno, make the cockpit window reflecty of someting, shine, sun, lasers, something so we know its there. :wtf:

Thank you all for you help. It looks like it does cuz I turned on "Shadows". The only lights are the engine and laser glow lights.
I'm working on a new one. Should be done later this morning.

Some of the shots where the cockpit was lost I thought were ok, but the other ones were excellent!

That one is more action filled, but backgrounds are pretty pixelised. By the way, the Dragons weren't there when they went after Lt. Ash. They were Manticores. Anyway, not a bad render.

I found htat out after I rendered it. The bg is 512x512 while the render was done in 1024x768, oops.
