Title: More than 6 per wing?

is there a way to put more than 6 ships in a wing?

No.

But you can make "fake" wings by naming the ships "(name) (1,2,etc.)". Doesn't work for warp effects and such, but makes the appearance.

Maybe the restriction was for poly reasons - lots of fighters slow down the game a lot - anyway, you can use waves for a kind of large wing effect, depending what you want to do.

Can't have more than 4 in a friendly wing, as there's only 4 spaces on the HUD status indicator.  Presumably this was to help balance the game against Alpha 1  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

You can have 6 pilots in Delta wing, and the dots show up fine on the HUD.

Oh yeah.. actually, now i rememberthat in the mission where you had to scan the Sath.  I couldn't do it with the alpha wing,though.

No, it won't work with 'player' wings Alpha or Beta. But I'm pretty sure it'll work with Gamma, Zeta, Epsilon, PinkPolkaDots or whatever you want to name your wing.

Probably won't work with Gamma either because it's a player wing. Any wing that you can change the loadout for won't allow 6 per wing.
