I would like to know what peole thought od these I made them all within fridays 24 hours ...few!!!
Also I would like to know how to do isignias - please? does ANYBODY know how to do insiginas with PCS?

the escort fighter looks more like a heavy assault fighter or even a light Gunship.
the alien ships look nice. how come all alien ships are weird and pointy? has anyone ever made a race with functional basic looking ships like the terrans, but more so?

That fighter looks very similar to one of the french ships in Starlancer, the Mirage and the cargo hauler looks sorta like a melted Goliath from the same game (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I like the cargo ship a lot. With some more work on the upper deck (?), that will be a top notch model. The fighter looks conventionnal, but cool anyway (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Any way the wing tips for griffin and the gennral design for the Hippo (under bit etc) (cargo) were shamlesy stolen from Starlancer, I admit.
The alien race are actually living, like the leviathan out o' Farscape - they have been merged with tecnology and thus spikes are beams turrets are mounted on metal strust sticking out of there body and becasue the propulsion of the large 'vessals' is VERY slow engines have been bolted on to the back...
on a side note do you know how hard it is to glue 29 objects together for a cargo ship? with out LODs! arrrhhhhhrrrrrhhhrrrh,.

ok, here is the rendered textured version of the hippo, I carn't do all ships quickly, I just counted and I have 52 ships 3 cargo containers and a doszen or so 'extras'(turrets etc). Textureing them all at this time would mean not very good maps on most of them.
This has some areas I want to clean up top part and strut's light dark devide for example...

Interplanetary shuttle(s) and a small GRDLA station. (I am currently trying out PSP festures, thats why there is a overdone sunburst in there)

It's pretty cool. I like the station quite a bit. The Hippo's the only one that's really making me drool, but keep up the good work!

its making you drool, mabey I should put a health warnning sticker on the MOD then - this was one of the mediocre models I have done - I personaly love my cruiser - hunter class if I can remember, my frigate - huricane class and many many more! just finishing (read starting to texture) off the bandit fleet today

I have a mental problem with making models. I can't seem to be able to make a ship with more than about 200 polys. I am somewhat ranting about this. The figter I made with about that is kind of cool (even if relitivly simple) does anyone want me to post a pic?

It is supposed to be an interceptor, I have the 'curse' of making incredebly low poly models (this one is 'bout 200), and it DOES have fins!

just extrude more I have 1000 poly fighters that have so much detail that I have to remove 'features' to get them down!
you carn't call them fins! their pathetic you need BIG fins! put some wings on with bent back tips, mabye on side only???

I make some new pics to show you, ok? I don't think that having 200 polys is all that bad! I mean cumon, now I can have HUGE space battles, at least twice as many as fs2 had.

and the LOD is were you can get massive space battles on slow machines just have numerous ships spread out arccross a large area.

Here is what I think it needs
A (more???) rased cockpit, make it darker and greyer at the least.
Put something on the front of those cycilders.
put same 'fins' on underneath (if not already) and extrude them down abit to ward engine
get better at texturing (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

cool. missle banks would be good on the cylinders. Make the cockpit more than just solid blue

Ok, thanx for all of the input. The lack of missile banks is due to a strange reason in my campaign. It is a short-range interceptor that is stationed on Patrol Cruisers or at space stations. Ah, I remember the reason now, The cylenders contain the weapons and sensors in them, so that is why there are no missile banks. This is about a LOD2 model, I suppose if I get around to making a LOD1, it will have more detail on the subsystems. Oh, and I am working on becoming a better texturer.
