For me- Diamonds Are Forever
best Bond, good story, funny in placeas and (IIRC) a girl named Plenty O'Toole. Perfick :)
Second is Goldeneye, cos the N64 game was class ;).
-
Goldeneye, good mix of everything.
-
ah, a bond thread again!
Octopussy was very good.
Then there was Tomorrow Never Dies.
-
Moonraker. I don't know why...

"So, English eh" "You know what was great about you guys, Octopussy, man I must've seen that film......twice"
-
I lieked moonraker, but only because it smelled so much of... b-action compared to some of them other.
but basically, I particularly liek teh ones with swedish bond chicks (octopussy, goldeneye, some others)
-
I have seen the newer ones a lot more than the 'classics' and i know Goldeneye like the back of .. my n64 controller :D
1) Goldeneye
2) Tommarow Never Dies (was ok, second favorite of the Brosnan ones)
3) The World is Not Enough (IMO the script sucked.. but it had Denise in it ;7 )
Live and Let Die was a tite song

But not the Guns 'n Roses version.
-
1) Goldfinger "No Mr. Bond, I want you do die!"
2) Goldeneye (Come on, giant EMP blasting satillite!)
-
Goldeneye
second.... err... hmm... Octopussy perhaps, or Goldfinger
-
ah, I like when people like Moore.
-
Goldfinger. It had the guy with the killer hat! I wish I had a killer hat.
-
I bet that WINE is the best. Denise Richards ;7 is better than Hale Berry :ick
-
1. Goldeneye (just for the name "Arkady Gregaravich Oroumov"!)
2. Living Daylights ( I know Dalton was crap, but I ignore him)
3. Live and Let die
-
GoldenEye 0wnz j00
-
Connery was the best Bond  Did the best one liners, and actually was believable as a hard drinking, hard loving ( ;7 ) spy. Moore was a bit too...camp, really. He didn't have the gritty edge.
-
Moonraker! It reeked of cheesiness. :) I remember in one of the older ones, I forget which though, one of Bond's "gadgets" was a portable phone :p

Blah, Morre was the best.
-
Any of them with Connery. Everytime i think of Bond i think of his face, because it just fits perfectly to the character. That Moore guy, all he had was the accent. I beleived more that he was a rich player, then some super spy womanizer.
-
Moore has a hyber-bondish face. Especially when he's smiling.
-
Die another day
I like it cause its "different" then the usual bond movies (wich I also like though).

It hasn't been released here in Singapore, so I cannot say much about it except that I have seen the trailers and I think it should be a great Bond movie like the rest. The rest of my verdict will come after I actually see it.:D
Anyway, with the exception of "Die Another Day", I think my favourite James Bond movie would have to be Goldfinger. Lots of snow, beaches, action, explosions, sexy girls. Nice mixture.
Don't mind the comments I made above, Tiara. Its a guy thing.:p

NB: UK release date for Die Another Day - 20/11/02
:)

And its supposed to come out in Holland next year... Guess how I got a hold of it... ;)
*hugs TCO*
His international project had more then one benefit. :D

- It was a joke
- But xXx qualifies itself quite well for a Bond type movie
- I am 11 years older then you. Better keep that "kid" for yourself...

*eargerly awaits to see DAD when it comes out*
It seems he did a lot of "flipping" (in his vehicles) in the preiveiws. At least he won't break his arm in this one.
hopefully.
-
bleh. I've seen some 8-9 bond behind the scenes previews. And it won't come until december. :(
-
'Goldfinger' or 'The Spy Who Loved Me' - gotta love the Union Flag on the parachute.
-
I actually liked "From Russia With Love" the best.
-
Live And Let Die because:
- the title song of course
- much of it was filmed here in New Orleans
- my friends the gators and snakes
- the idiot hick sheriff
- the hilarious cheesy version of a voodoo ritual
- seeing the nauseating Jane Seymour get slapped around
- the look they give Moore when he walks into Kananga's bar
- the opening scene with the jazz funeral: a huge crying sad procession then an agent watching asks "who's funeral? " Answer: "yours". The agent gets stabbed then put in the coffin and the procession starts jammin' and dancing all happy

Yes....Neo Hunter.... you should....keep ...it...for...your...self.
-
Moonraker. Just for the whole over-the-top space battle at the end. Also for the return of Jaws, some of the more memorable music in a Bond film, and perhaps the ultimate realization of the "villain's secret mountain base" cliche.
-
I've seen all the James Bond movies except Die Another Day.
Must catch that one.

I'll remember that. Apologies to Cetanu then.

Goldfinger

Tomarrow Never Dies
GoldenEye would have been perfect if there was more use for the BMW. Also more Bond music in it would have been nice.
-
Well, this is true. But you just had to love that tank chase - the way Bond hand-brake skids it into the middle of a crossroads, looks over his shoulder at the wrecked cars behind him, then straightens his tie and drives on... that one moment redifined the word 'smooth'

Ah, the straighten-tie pun is one of the best ones in all Bond-movies. Another excellent example is in The World Is Not Enough, where Bond converts his boat into a sub, blast through the (under)water and straightens his tie. Yes.
And TND had the best theme song evar.

And if the widget for activating the satellite wasn't so incredibly contrived. Came across like something out of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Die another day was awesome.
go see it.
-
Die Another Day was a pretty weird Bond movie.
Pierce didn't do as a good job playing Bond as he did with the other movies.
Bond even smoked in the movie. I thought he quit. :blah:

I don't think so. James Bond has always been smoking since Dr No.
-
Prolly gonna see it tomorrow night. Any one else seen it and got an opinion before I give the definitive word and put an end to this thread?

He wasn't smoking in GoldenEye and Tomarrow Never Dies.
There was a scene in Tomarrow never dies where Bond offers a light, punches the guy, and says 'Filthy habbit'.
-
yeah. he hasn't smoken for a loong loong time.
-
Why would they even have him smoke? Does Brosnan even smoke?
I guess i should see the movie... :blah:
-
I wouldn't really matter if Brosnan smoked or not, they'ld just give him herbal cigerttes to smoke on stage (which I believe if what the Cigerette smoking man acually smoked in the X-File, since the actor didn't smoke).
In all of Flemmings novels, Bond did indeed smoke. But once it became apparent that smoking wasn't exactly great for your health, they stopped in smoking in the films as it 'glamorised' smoking.
-
Die Another Day was good, but not the best. Was it just me or did the writers really lay the innuendeaus (sp?) thick? And the tidal Wave parachute thing was SO FAKE!!! Fortunately they didn't use CG in every sequeance, or it'd suffer from AOTC disease, AKA BCG. But aside from that it was quite exceptional. I personaly like how it strayed from the formula just a little, giving the begining a dark tone.
I don't like Halle Berry either. Bad actress!
-
Hold on, let me wade theough the anacronyms there... ah, I got it. Well, I'm now going to see it tomorrow, so we'll see.
And frankly, yellow card for the Halle Berry comment
