Title: 3ds export troubles
Post by: Sesquipedalian on November 14, 2002, 08:05:53 pm
I'm having serious problems with exporting from max to .3ds.  All the UV info is getting screwed up in the export process, and I'm not sure why.  Even exporting to 3ds and then importing straight back into max evidences the error.
Does anyone have any advice on where I should be looking for the problem?

try collapsing the modifier stack of your mesh.

A little box thingy pops up saying "Save MAX Texture Co-ordinates?" or something to that effect. Click the little box and click okay.

I was doing that, an0n, but thanks anyway. :)

I think I know now what the problem was.  At the very beginning I applied a UV modifier directly to the editable mesh without an Edit Mesh modifier layered in between.  The stack was collapsed at one point during the work and saved, so there is no way now to fix it.  I'll have to go back and do it all over again one of these days (putting it off until Christmas break now).
