I'm still not too satisfied with the results, but it's a minor improvment. I simply cannot figure out Lithunwrap or UV Mapper. so I've used Truespace5, ( yes version 5! not a demo, but the full version! I know some say it's prone to crashing, but I haven't had any problems...yet) for the texture job. if anyone's willing to help out on the texures, I'll send over the model and the textures, either in FS2 form or TS-readable form, whichever you choose. I'm not obligating anyone to it, I'm just making a meer suggestion (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) anyways, here's the link for the new pic:

and yes, I realize the poly count is high, I apologize. I'll trim it down only if it doesn't affect the texture job.

Dude that looks like an A-,B-,X-wing mix. I love it!

yay! somone loves my first real model! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif) I guess it does have a bland SW look to it. if I could figure out how to use Lithunwrap or UV Mapper, I'd be able to make textures of a higher quality. oh well, keep those comments coming (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

nice! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) (THAT COCKPIT IS TOO small or your fighter is HUGE!!!)

yeah, the cockpit is a bit to small. maybe I'll just stick to cap-ship design. fighters are just too hard to make textures for. they require too much detail to give a decent look. another downer about making fighters is that, in order to make a really texture, it's usually comprised of a single texture. though I have the tools necessary, it's just too time-consuming. I guess I'll begin work on a new model. if anyone wants the model shown here, let me know. otherwise, I'm scrapping it.
