Blimey. They're never gonna get the bloody thing in to service
If they think I'll be happy flying Tornados, they've got another thing comming

I guess we will only see.

both engines stopped simultaniously? sounds like they spilled coffee on the controls.
-
Maybe a short somewhere between the controls and the engines?

If the EF has anywhere near the kind of safeguards that US Navy fighters have, there's no way both engines should have stopped simultaneously from a mere short.
My bet is on computer malfunction/misprogramming or hard physical malf.

A physical malfunction in both engines simoultaneously would be very unlikely IMHO. The fact both went out at the same time seems to point at electrics, as does the fact they wouldn't re-ignite. It could well be that fuel pumps stopped working, the fuel failed to ignite, or the old favourite, it didn't actually have any fuel... (always a possibility). I would say computer or other electronics system personally. But hey, I've only been doing the Aircraft course for 2 months so I still don't know **** ;)
-
Aircraft course? Explain, if you please...
-
Aircraft Maintenance- actually just a general mechanics\maintenance course with the aircraft City and Guilds 259 as well. The whole course is geared towards aircraft though, because all our teachers have a background with aircraft (one was in the RAF, another got told in the office down the hall from my classroom he had no future in the industry... 40 years later he's teaching us and telling us about stuff while manically grinning. Like how many people got sucked into a jet engine. How he blew up a building during an engine test, etc.)
Anyways, Diamondgeezer... you're British as well aren't you? Is it me, or is it 12:30 or so?
-
Aye... well, more like quarter to one, now :) But then, I didn't wake up until about seven this evening, so it makes sense. Sort of.
-
hmm that's odd for both to shut down.

Been up since 7 mate, and I only got two hours sleep- I got up 7 yesterday, ended up going to a club with my mates, ended up giving them all a lift home in my Dirty Micra (tm), then ended up helping my mates girlfriend get rid of excess emotional baggage. Until 5 in the morning. Got home, slept for a coupla hours, and I'm still up now. But hallucinating. Quite unfortunate when you're driving. Actually, I'm off. When you realise you AREN'T being persued by giant, space faring chickens, thens the time to worry about trying to recover you're dignity ;)
