Alright people, I've got a project in mind and I need some help. As you may or may not remember, I wrote a story and a half about a quasi-creation of mine called Megaweapon. For those who don't know, visit here. (http://www.warpstorm.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1378) Just as a refresher (the stories are long), Megaweapon is a 300 ton CAT 797 (last I checked, the biggest truck in the world) outfitted with a frightening array of weapons (well, not really, but he can get them) and the personality to use them on anything and everything.
Well anyway, since before I even started writing the stories, I knew it wasn't the best. Honestly, Meggy doesn't translate really well into the written word (as far as I'm concerned anyways). I've always felt the entire series would work better in a visual medium. Alas, I cannot afford a CAT 797 nor the film with which to film it laying waste to Cheynne, Wyoming (which would bring up other issues I don't want to get into). The only option left to me is a drawn one, and sadly, I can't draw. Hell, even my stick figures look terrible.
Which is why I'm writing this. I know some of you out there can draw, and I'm curious if any of you would be interested in helping me out with this. I want to do what basically amounts to an online comic book (not strip), but I need some sucker, er, artist to help with the one end I can't cover, the drawing part. I would handle writing the story, answering emails and maintaining (perhaps even building) the site. Which means you would get to do all the work. Sorry about that. At a minimum, there would be a few scenes from the first story "The Purple and the Black" AKA "Megaweapon vs. Barney." Beyond that a full book for that story, and beyond that, well, it all depends now doesn't it?
So if you're intersted (and given my current record on such things. . .) email me at [email protected] (no pictures please) or PM me or post here or something. If I get a bunch who are interested I'll have a drawing contest or something. Well, that's about it, thanks ahead of time.

Hmmm... don't think I can help you in that way, but this general idea does bring to mind a short story I read... one of my more favorite ones, but unfortunately I don't remember the name offhand, nor am I at home where I have the book. I'll try and find you the reference when I get back, dude.

yes! The Cat 797 - probably my favorite vehicle in existence.

Nah. J-Bomb all the way

Is your Megaweapon by any chance based on the Megaweapon from Warrior of the Lost World (http://www.mindspring.com/~dhmac/mst3k/Ep_0501.html)?

Why do you think I called it a "quasi-creation?" I've given him a greater personality and a few other neat tricks, enemies and such. Basically, I took the coolest part of that movie and made it cooler by far. I mean, what could be cooler than a truck the size of a house moving at 160 mph while doing cartwheels and melting tanks? Not much, that's for damn sure.

Ok, found that book and story I was talking about. The book's called "Tales of Time and Space", Whitman publishing, 1969. The story is The Last Command, by Keith Laumer, copyright 1966 by The Conde Nast Publications Inc.
Wow, I just did a search - looks like he has a whole sieres on this concept: http://www.gpfn.sk.ca/~geis/bolo/novels.html
