Title: Sandwich's trip to DC
Post by: Su-tehp on November 22, 2002, 09:40:34 pm
OK, I know that a number of people are gonna want to meet with Sandwich when he's in DC, including me, so I made this post so we could compare notes about getting together.

Me first, since it's my post. :D

Ok, I have to double check my plans, but if all goes well tomorrow, I'll be in DC around 10pm on Tueday, Nov 26. If worse comes to worse and I can't exchange my bus ticket, I'll be in DC on Wednesday at 6pm.

Damnit, he's in New York this weekend, but I can't see him because he's visiting some family friends. :sigh: Oh well...

Let's keep this thread on topic, gang. I don't want to miss out on a chance to meet Sandwich face to face.

Has he mentioned when he'll be in DC or even if he'll have time?

Tuesday before Thanksgiving Sandwich said he was free. I'm getting into DC that day, but not until late, if I can manage getting in on Tuesday at all.

I live quite close to this area actually, but I am a bit too busy these days with this college admission stuff... :p

My itinerary is like this: land this Monday around noon, head to my friends' house where I'll be staying. Go with him to his Hebrew class in the evening for the kicks. :D

Tuesday he has law school classes, so the day's free AFAIK.

Wednesday I don't know what's happening, but I think he mantioned that we'd be doing something, so I'd rather not make an appt. for then until I find out what's going down.

Thursday evening is Thanksgiving, of course (for all you Americans out there, duh... ;) ), so the evening's taken. Day's up in the air for now.

Friday I fly down to Florida early early - leave the house at 6am or so. :doubt:

And somewhere in there, I NEED to fit in Die Another Day, which I haven't seen yet.... that'd be fun to catch with anyone from here who can make it. :D

I'll post more when I find out, of course.

I haven't seen Die Another Day either, so Tuesday or Thursday morning maybe?

I just saw it.

It's pretty good. Not exactly what I was expecting.

I'm gonna bite the bullet and skip my second class on Tuesday (my third one was cancelled, thank God) and try tonight to exchange my bus ticket to leave Tuesday morning, so I SHOULD be able to get into DC around 5:30pm, IF I can exchange the bus ticket tonight.

Wish me luck.

And I haven't seen Die Another Day yet, so I'm game. :D

BTW, Sandwich, I live right by American University, where are you staying?

No, Doc, I meant to type BC for British Columbia but hit the wrong key on the keyboard. ;)

That's what the title of this topic means, Doc. He's gonna be in DC for a few days until right after Thanksgiving, which is when I'm going to be in DC as well. :)

I'd like for CP5670 to hang out with me and Sandwich, but he's probably too engrossed in a math problem to join us. :D

EDIT: Bus ticket office was closed today, so I'll have to try to exchange my ticket tomorrow... :mad2: :doubt:

Across the River? Geez, I thought you'd be a little closer than that...but no biggie. You shouldn't be more than 20 minutes from my house, at any rate.

I'll PM you my street address now, if you need it. I'm right by American University. You should already have my cell phone number, but I'll give it again, just in case.

And BL, I got your message, so check your PMs. :D

Uh, Doc, in order for Sandwich to find you with Mapquest, your address has to be punched in, you can't leave it blank...

EDIT: Going off to the bus ticket office today to get my ticket exchanged. Wish me luck, gang. :)

IT'S A DONE DEAL!

I got my tickets exchanged (or the guy said I don't need to exchange them, I can just get on the bus tomorrow, w/e) so I WILL be getting to DC around 5:30pm tomorrow. :D

Sandwich, now is the time to start making plans. I need a way to get in touch with you, ideally by phone, as you have my cell phone number and I am going to have my cell phone with me all day.

I need a way to get in touch with you. PM me your phone number so we can make plans.

Also, if Tuesday night is the best chance to meet, let's make plans for something to do, mmmkay? :)

Didn't someone suggest going to see Die Another day (hint hint!) ;7

Dude, I thought you were joining us. :wtf:

Ok, ok, before anyone gets the idea that me, Sandwich and BL are into menage a trois homoeroticism, I want to state unequivocably that that is NOT the case. :ick ;) :D

But seriously, BL, have you talked with Sandwich about meeting with us or not? I'm just trying to make plans for what to do before I leave. I'm skipping class to leave early in order to see Sandwich. If you want to join us like you said, then help us make some plans. I don't want to come all the way down to see Sandwich and then miss out on meeting him.

Exchanging addresses is all well and good, but we need to be able to talk to each other on the phone to coordinate what we're doing in order to meet in person.

BL, what I need to know is this: are you meeting up with me and Sandwich like you said you wanted to or not? And if so, have you cleared it with Sandwich?
Title: Sandwich's trip to DC

Well the problem is no, I haven't cleared it yet. So I'm guessing it's a no go for me :p

Meh, you guys and your rumor-mongering. :p

I'll check my PM box in a sec, but so far I have a friend coming up to hang out - we'll probably hit Apollo 13 in the IMAX in the Air and Space museum tommorow (today? tuesday...), but I don't know any details yet. I'll be hooking up with him noon-ish, so I'll probably call those who need calling around then. I don't have my own cellular here, so I don't have anything to give out, really.

Off to check PMs!

OK, just chatted with Sandwich on ICQ a few minutes ago. Here's where things stand so far:

Sandy is going to spend Tuesday day with his buddy to the IMAX. I'm gonna be getting into DC bus terminal around 5:30 or 6pm. Sandy has my cell phone number so he can get in touch with me. Blue Lion, you're all clear to join me and Sandwich tomorrow as well, so I'll PM you my cell phone number once im done posting here. Sandwich already has it.

Sandwich doesn't have a cell phone on him, but his friend does and I expect that Sandwich will use his friend's phone to touch base with me.

BL, if you've got a cell phone handy, I'll need you to PM the number to me so I can keep in touch with you as well.

I look forward to seeing you both tomorrow! :D :)

Ok, I'm back. Sorry for my absence, but posting from here in DC on my sister's comp and her 56k modem is not nearly as convenient as posting from school on my T1 line. I really gotta convince dad to get cable...

But me and Sandwich went to go see the new Bond flick with two of his friends. Sandwich, I gotta tell you, David and Scott are cool peeps.

No women were present, unfortuneately, but that's no biggie, I got a girl in White plains who I'm trying to put the moves on. :D

It's not like there was much scenery to put behind us for the photo, Sandwich. It was just you, me and your buddies David and Scott going to see Die Another Day. It's not like the ushers would have let us pose for pictures inside the movie theatre. ;)

True, I would have liked to see a pic of the four of us here on HLP.

Ah, well, maybe someday I'll head to Jerusalem and we can take a pic of us then. :)

I doubt it's gonna be anytime soon, though...:nervous:
