work in progress obviously. I have to fix some curves on that part, otherwise I'm pleased with the shape.
Oh, and if you think I build my meshes in odd ways, her... well... mind your own business ;7
edit: it's based on the V map, and on the awesome drawing by that japanese dude that you can find in the miscelaneous artists section at HLP

hey venom, may i request something. in your construction, when you hit about 1500 polies, can you please save the model, for game purposes

bwarf, the 1500 poly limit is long gone pal :p
and ryx, none of that. LPM with mesh smooth, that's what I like best for non organic meshes, usually.

it's a very old model I was working on, based on the concept pic rather than the ingame model ( I prefer this version ), and the fact that I preferd those kind of glowing engines some FS1 shivan ships had ( like the scorpion or the nephilim ) rather than the usual engine with thruster plumes.

Not bad, Venom. I like the contrast between the main hull and the ends of the arms.

weapons areas for shivan ships in the FS1 concept pics where white, slick areas, so I kept that. the maps sux, tho.

Yep thats exactly the plan for realization, of course dont forget to include a credits sheet. I'll contact you once the hosted site is up and running so you can subit the mesh

"War" implies competition. Venom is working on his Herc, I'm working on my Herc, Ryx is working on his Orion.
I don't know about Venom and Ryx, but I'm going to release the model when I'm done with it--or at least when I'm done enough to share it with other people without embarassing myself. ;) Darkage will get it first though, to use in one of his kickass animations. :)

Depending on how you're modelling the model, saves of it in various states (Read: lower-poly) might be handy for source code folks. Don't know if that'll work since these models are around 20,000 polies... :nervous:

20000 polys? not yet, 16000 for now. but this is not and will never be for ingame. polycount aside, the clipping pbs would drive the coders insane.
