I'm wondering if any of you actually play DarkSpace... I just recently got back to playing it, and all I can say is "ROCK ON"
I love it, though it does cost $10 a month to get all the features(prestige saving, so you actually can fly more ships than scouts :p)
Something interesting I found though... one of the fleets is called GTVA, Galactic Terran Vasudan Alliance, but with only 2 people in that fleet with 0 prestige each...So I'm wondering if anyone actually from here plays it.
At the moment I'm a 1st Rear Admiral... took awhile to get there, but its neat. Its a great game and I suggest you check it out if you haven't already. Its free for download at //www.darkspace.net ,

I take it this works something like Warbirds, yes? The game is free, but you have to pay to be able to use the game servers and play anything more than the most basic sampler missions.
Or, I could just go and read the website...

I started playign thsi a while back when someone here announced it. It was fun for about two months... then got boring... anything new since 6 or so months ago? (btw, i got to 2nd rear admiral)

Heck yea, they add stuff pretty often actually. They have a group feature now, so the prestige gained is shared between the group members. This is mostly because if a person plays an interdictor, then they usually don't get any prestige since the only thing its good at is keeping enemy people from warping away.
They also have a mission feature now, if you press control-o, if there's an available mission, it'll give you one. Completion of the mission assigned will give you credits and some bonus prestige.
And the Kluuth race has been expanded a lot since 6 months ago... it used to have practically no ships, but now its up to about 3/4 of the amount the ICC and UGTO have.
And I think it was less than 6 months ago that they added the whole new planet management feature. The whole planet system rocks now.

i could never get the damn thing to patch. always locked up. so i gave up on trying it. Looked so good too...

Sure you weren't running a firewall or something that didn't let you send information on ur files, so it could update them?
