Anyone help?
When I turn my scanner on, normally the scan head lights up, but for the past week or two it hasn't. It still moves when instructed to scan, but because there's no light, it doesn't pick anything up. i am most annoyed.
BTW, it's a MUSTEK BearPaw 1200 USB.

Sounds like it's broke. Best take it to ye olde mending shoppe.
-
if the light's broken it won't see anything, because scanners work on light... the light lights up whatever it's scanning, so it can see it. so if the light's broken, just take it to have it replaced... no biggie

I have heard of those scanner bulbs burning out every now and then; as others have said, you probably need to get just the bulb replaced.
-
Ahh, and could I do it myself, or have to have it done by some nefaerious bloke in a shop who would charge inordinate fees?
-
I burnt my scanner out becase my mom kept switching around the power cords and eventualy I pluged in my joystick power suply to the scanner and left it on whlst I went looking for something to scan

99.9% probability it's a bulb
let us know though :) :p  ;)
phone the company, maybe you can buy a bulb and put it in yourself

If you do try to fix it yoursself, just make sure you aren't invalidating your warranty or anything by taking it apart...

Well I emailed the company I bought it off, and am awaiting reply. However, I downloaded their T+C and it seems that they have no responsibility at all, bastards!
