A truer word can hardly be said.
I'll take a handful of cherry tomatoes over some sugary dessert any day of the week.

Edit: As a matter of fact, I do that every day of the week!

I think it is technically a fruit but it seems to be commonly known as a vegetable.

Is a cherry tomato that mini-sized tomato that has a bit of a sweet taste to it?

I'm deeply suspicious of veggies... and the only fruit I really care about are the dark ones

Frankly, the only use for salad is as a dressing on your doner kebab

Califlower, for instance, is the flower of a plant not the seed/fruit of the plant.

Maybe I should have put most instead of almost.

Yes, they are.  Soooo delicious......

I like my vegetables too, but I'm old, so that's not surprising.
(Except carrots.  I've despised carrots my entire life, and probably always will.  It's not the texture.  It's not the taste.  It's both.)

No, no, see, the problem is this, SnoJ:

From the quoted sentence:
1. Tomatoes are fruit.
2. Tomatoes are vegetables.

But:
3. By definition, fruit are not vegetables and vegetables are not fruit.

You can't have all three of these statements be true at once.

AHHHH! Read a Biology book for heaven's sake. You'll see I'm right.

Fruits and most veggies are fruits. we just clasify some fruits as veggies.

technically, all vegetables are fruit.

So let me get this straight; are fruits a subset of vegetables or the other way around? Would, say, green beans be fruits or oranges be vegetables? :D

Er... in a stricly scientific sense, all plants are vegetables, right? Any naturalists out there want to help me out with this?

But as I understand it, the poll question refers to the culinery sense of the phrases 'fruit' and 'veggie'

You guys!  I'll give you a techy explanation that will put this behind us.

Fruits are technically ovaries of the plants.  When the sperm from male parts of flowers or male flowers fertilize the eggs in the ovary, the plant will divert a lot of energy to nurture the fruit.  So tomatoes, peppers, bananas, etc. are all fruits.  They all have flowers and male parts of flowers.  The ovaries may have different shapes and seeds may be different.  [There's an Asian species of gourd that grows its ovary (About one per plant.) up to 1.5 METERS tall and ONLY has an average of TWO SEEDS!] up tIt all depends on [Evolutionists watch out] how our Lord made them back in the beginning.

Vegetables are actually organs of the plant, other than the fruit.  Vegetables may be leaves, stems, or roots.  Spinach is a vegetable, peas are fruits.

Another thing, ALL PLANT PARTS HAVE SUGAR!  If it didn't have sugar, it wouldn't be able to complete its metabolic processes.  The principle sugar, glucose, is requires for all metabolic processes in the plant.  There is a HIGHER CONCENTRATION of glucose in fruits because the once the ovary is ripe, its sugar contents will nurture the seed(s) inside.  So when a - say - peach drops onto the ground, the ovary will disintegrate and form a nutritious layer around the seed.  When the seed germinates, it will take in the decomposed sugar.

Why do I teach history in the first place?

I intend to one day own a huge beard, a beard so enormous that it shall be viewed from afar and people will say "That my friend is a huge beard" and I shall say "Yes it is isn't it" and then I will strange them with the beard for being so stupid in pointing out the fact that the beard was huge in the first place because it would've been pretty ****in' obvious to the owner of a huge beard that his beard is huge.
