And you say that'll be in-game? :eek2:
-
I dunno. Its not very original. I've seen the design somewhere before, I think... I guess it okay...
:D Good job.
-
but... isn't it the A-wing from SW?
-
Ever heard of the word "total conversion"?
-
Smashing work Karma, the hull plating is especially good, it's almost 100% accurate.
What's the polycount for LOD0?

-
Looks fantastic! I think there's a little clipping on the nose, though. Can't wait to POF it.
-
Isn't there only one cross beam on the A-Wing or is that just me. I always liked that vessel...small and fast. And concussion missiles are always fun! :D
BTW: Does this total conversion have a website?
-
See that half-rebel, half-Imperial logo by all them SW staffers' names? Try that
It's under construction, though, so you might want to visit their forums (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=70)
-
How can these people not know about the SW total conversion? I thought it was common knowledge.
-
Dude, I know people that haven't seen a single Star Wars movie. Not knowing about the mod is a teeny sin in comparison
And since I'm posting - that's one hella nice looking space ship you got there, Karma
-
:)
final polycount for lod0 will be betwen 600 and 650 polys, not triangulized (around 1500 if triangulized)
and i really used a lot of maps to reach this detail level: 8 maps 256x256
the mesh is 95% mine, i started with an already done mesh for q3/tribes2, but i wasn't satisfied so i started rebuilding some elements..and element after element i rebuilt all the ship except the rear wings and few polys around engines
and textures are obviously all handjob by me
-
How much time did you spend on those textures? they are fabulous, i can only dream about being able to texture like that

well...ages:)
but i have to say that now, when i start a texture, i usually know what i have to do to obtain certain effects, i have to invent new solutions in very few cases now, and this speed up a lot the drawing job
plus i have now a little archive of dust, scratches, blasts, dirty etc that i can use for the textures, and this speed up the job too
actually i spend probably about the same time in uvmapping/applying textures that in drawing them
btw if you want learn i wrote a little drawing tutorial(make a little search in this forum), it was weird both for english grammar/spelling and for the general organization of the tutorial(i will probably rewrite it), but there were a lot of drawing strategies and tricks that can be useful

Awesome ship, but the A-Wing only has one strut on the cockpit.
-
you are right:)
+ the colour is in my opinion too blue, so it is a thing that i'm surely going to edit
-
Interesting model. The cockpit section looks strikingly like that on the 158th's Diamondback. :)

Hactually, to be precise, it's the other way around :D
